OK, so medical and dental insurance shopping is hereby completed! Not nearly as fun as shopping for Jeep parts!!!! We now return you to your political discussion. It's all quite simple, THEY are all assholes and don't give a SHIT about US. That should just about wrap it up I'd say.

Three communities in that “area” have unique time situations.

Atikokan is in Central Time Zone, but observes Eastern Standard Time for half the year.

Pickle Lake and New Osnaburgh are CT, but observes Eastern Time year round.

Saskatchewan is geographically in Mountain, but observes Central Standard Time year round.

I have no idea if it’s any of this strangeness that you’ve been caught up in? Doesn’t seem like it should be, but given all the above, weirder things have happened...

It’s Atikokan that is the culprit. I looked it up, and found a map. Directly north of the cabin. Cabin is located somewhere around my red blob of color on the map below.

I don’t have a dog in your healthcare fight, either. But I can tell you that if you ask any Canadian on the street what they value most about being Canadian, our universal, single payer health care is at the top of the list - including if you asked people on the right of the political spectrum. And you’re right, it IS socialized medicine. It is medicine, as a social program, because it is assumed to be a human right.

And, BTW insurance is socialized, except the ins co gets to profit. Trina's high premium is not paying for her family, it is paying for those without health care. It's all perspective.

My premiums are lower, because I'm in a High Deductible plan, because I'm fortunate to have an employer who matches my contributions (socialized). The first $4000 of my yearly medical expenses are out of pocket. ($2000) if you work where I work, I'm taking money from your year end bonus.

Where this gets messed up is in scale, if 4 of us were on an island and you needed Medical Attention we'd care for each other, some how some way. Now, the folks on the other island, fuck em, I don't know em. However, when we value the sanctity of life for life sake, then we help them.
