Jay, typically how long does it take your system to catch up with what the dealer system has? I'm a D1 with VIN assigned and spreadsheet still showing nothing for me.
Unfortunately, there really is no "typical" at this point. Also want to stress, our tracking system is not "our" system. It shows you what is in FCA's nationwide tracking system available to all FCA dealerships. And as I've stated your selling dealer has access to info for its own vehicles that is not available to all other dealers, hence why we see discrepancy sometimes.

Based on history it is really pretty random, some orders are completely in sync among the different "systems" and other orders seem to be totally disconnected. I know that is not overly helpful but unfortunately that's what we are working with at the moment.

Not Jay here, but mine has been showing as D1 from the dealer for a week now. I gave the VIN to Jeep Chat this morning, and they said all materials needed to start the build process have been received, and the vehicle should enter the build process very soon. (I.e. D1 confirming what the dealer told me.) I’m still not showing D1 on the spreadsheet here. For what it’s worth, the chat person finished by saying “Total processing time from start to finish to Dealership is 10-12 weeks.” I certainly hope it’s sooner than that, but who knows!

Just wanted to let you know Jay, that we all really appreciate you, the tracking and this forum. Sorry that our frustration over issues bleeds over to you sometimes. I would be nowhere without all the info here. If Jeep were run as efficiently and professionally and honestly as this forum we would all have had our Jeeps 4 weeks ago. Thanks again!!

Update. I spoke to a buddy at the jeep plant today, he checked on my von and vin.

Said I'm number 131797(I ordered 12-18-17), they are on 88xxxx . Said they build around 800 a day.

Said sometimes customer orders like mine (ours) get moved up alittle, but I'm still a long way out.
That doesn’t add up? If you are 131,797..How could they be on 88x,xxx? Do you mean they are in the 80,000s?

I chatted with C/S yesterday and they told me I was in gateline status. That is a change from the prior week.

I don't usually "Math" but that would put you 54 days out at 800 a day (131797 - 88,000) / 800
They were making 600 a shift a long time ago (2 shifts a day). Hmmm....

My buddy also told me he has heard nothing about soft tops being a hold up, this was after I asked if my soft top only order was slowing me down.

Happy to hear they build 800 a day,and move some ordere ahead, but bummed I've got over 43,000 scheduled before me.

At this rate in a going 50 days before mine even begins production

Yes I talked to Bestop (the OEM top supplier) and they said there was no hold up on the soft tops themselves. They did apparently have to push back the anticipated Dec 11 job 1 for soft tops due to other delays. They should be out there next week.

Thanks, appreciate that. Trust me, we're just as frustrated as all of you over the flaws in the system and want nothing more than for everyone's orders to be tracked accurately. Hopefully this is just first model year growing pains and things improve.

Yes, they are in the 80,000s. The 80xxxx he stated was because he doesn't have the exact number they are on.

He said the soft tops are not delay that the issue actaully was hard tops, that soft tops got pushed back because of hard tops.

He did sat over 800 pet normal day so hopefully it' mid 800's and ramping up to more

1/4/18 UPDATE:

We're now at 217 orders (two more than planned) so as I mentioned earlier, we're now officially CLOSED from accepting new orders to track for the time being.

We'll see how the next few weeks play out and let everyone know when we open back up!

Jay

=====================================================================================================================================================

We are excited to officially announce our Order Tracking Service for all JLWF members!

**Update: Note that only ONE order per user is allowed**

Here are the details:

What is order tracking? :whatsgoingon:
Our ability to track your Wrangler order (U.S. and Canada orders only) means you'll be able to follow the status of your order from the time of order to arrival at your dealership. You'll know when your order has been scheduled for production, the current stage of production, when it completes production, when it's shipped and when it arrives at your dealership! :champagne:

Is there a fee? :piggybank:
Our tracking service is complimentary for all JLWF members! We just ask that you participate in our discussion forums and whenever possible please support future site sponsors and advertisements if it fits with your plans.

How can I start tracking my order? :time:
1) Vote AND Post what you've ordered in the "What have you ordered" thread (REQUIRED).
2) reply below to this current thread with your order's VON # AND ORDER DATE (this is located on your order sheet from your dealer).
3) once we have seen your post, we will add your VON to the tracking list.
4) we will contact you with a password to open the tracking spreadsheet (discussed below).

How do I receive tracking updates? :ontheloo:
Once or twice a day (morning and/or afternoon), we will upload the latest tracking spreadsheet which contains the latest updates for all orders we're currently tracking. The tracking spreadsheet file will be attached to this first post and can be opened with the password you received earlier.

Will there be support provided for specific TRACKING questions I have?
This thread will be overseen by user JLWF Dealer Guy (our resident Jeep dealer) who will try to answer your tracking-related questions on a regular basis and as time permits. Please note that JLWF Dealer Guy cannot accept private messages and although we will try our best, we cannot guarantee that every question will/can be answered.

**For all non-tracking related questions related to general ordering and pricing, please ask in the JLWF "Ask-A-Jeep-Dealer Thread"

LAST UPDATE: 1-11-18 SPREADSHEET (ATTACHED).

Updated again. There's some movement for orders already beyond D1.

In an effort to help you try to catch any red flags (like Tyler's situation) earlier on, we are now listing all dealerships by name in the "Ship to Dealer" column instead of just listing the dealer code that the system provides. Note that this info is only available for orders that have reached the "I" or beyond status.

Make sure to keep an eye on this as your order moves through the system.
