What did you do TO your Jeep JL today?

What kind of paint did you use?

I have been painting the muffler and tailpipe, on my JK's since my first JK in 2007.

On the JK's and presently with my JL, I use just plain old Rustoleum "Flat Black" spray paint. ($3.75)

Sure, you can spend $6.00+ for heat proof paint but it is not at all needed, in regard to the Wrangler's rear muffler.

Anyway, Rustoleum Flat Black, wears well, color looks good, never burns off .... never any issues. Yes, I do respray every few months.

Also, when I was the Jeep, I always wash off that painted muffler.

When I paint the muffler and tailpipe, I just tape off, use newspaper and cardboard ...... to block off over spray to surrounding areas. I do say 3 light coats and let each coat dry for 3 or so minutes before the next coat.

Just put the grille guard on.. even in dark took 2 minutes.. btw why do instructions say to throw the bolts into the trash? Lol the 4 that come with it are the same, just with red loctite on them. Wait, I get it... lawyers

Which winch and mounting plate do you have? I’ve seen reviews that the Mopar hoop doesn’t clear some Warn winches, and I don’t want to make a +$200 mistake or have to deal with return shipping.

What brand did ya go with?

I put this one on my JL. I don’t listen to FM radio that much, but reception seems every bit as good as my previous vehicle with in-glass antenna.

Oh man am I happy with these Just got home. Wheels: Black Rhino Warlords 20x9. Tires: 35 x 12.5 BFG K02's. For just two inches more than stock, these tires feel far more meaty and substantial. Discount Tire filled them to 37psi which might be kinda high based on some threads I've read here. I can see why some say the ride is a bit more "squirrley". Cannot complain tho. Very happy with this setup.

I installed the tailgate reinforcement kit yesterday and raised the third-brake light. The 35's fit with a lot of room to spare.

There's even room to spare at the bottom! Stock plastic bumper. No problem.

Wheel offset is -12 and with the 12.5" tires you have about 3" overhang from the fenders.

These particular wheels are kind of chameleon-like. Depending on the sun, the outer rim can look anywhere from gunmetal to a light bronze.
