just saw the other recall for 24 and 25 wranglers

MAY 21, 2026

NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 26V327000

Rearview Camera Image May Not Display/FMVSS 111

A rearview image that does not display reduces the driver's view behind the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.

NHTSA ID Number: 26V327000

Manufacturer Chrysler (FCA US, LLC)

Components BACK OVER PREVENTION

Potential Number of Units Affected: 16

Summary

Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2019 and 2023 Chrysler Pacifica, 2024 Ram 1500, Ram 2500, and 2024-2025 Jeep Wrangler vehicles.

Contamination in the central vision processing module or improper programming may cause the rearview camera image not to display. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 111, "Rear Visibility."
That's quite a massive recall. 16 units over five years!

Makes me think that Model Year 2020 was the best model year for a JL. That was the year when they managed to fix the issues from MY18 and 19. Then MY21 and later have all these build quality issues. Mine is a 2020 JLUR with 3.6 pentastar, 8 spd and no eTorque. Either I got very lucky or mine might be a ticking time bomb also. Lets hope its the former!!

My lease is up in 6 months. Stellantis is making it easier for me to move to a 4runner
Can definitely see why you would feel that way. I have owned Toyotas as well but Toyota has had more than their share of recalls the last few years. Although dont think the 4runner was affected.
Nothing shows up for mine...yet. https://www.nhtsa.gov/recalls
Mine either. Mine was built June 14 2021. Not sure but maybe got lucky

Apparently it takes a few days to a few weeks for it to show up. The manufacturer has 60 days to notify the victims us via mail.

Mine is a 2021 and I've never had a recall. But it was built June 14 2021. Maybe that has something to do with it. Even this latest recall im not on it..hope I got lucky

So, that's pretty much every single Wrangler and Gladiator made during those 5 years and not just an isolated bad batch, right?

If AI-fu is correct, Jeep sells roughly 150k Wranglers and 50k Gladiators each year, so ~750k + ~250k = at least 1M sold, so every single one is potentially effected. How tf does that happen?

Can't wait to see what the local dealership breaks while trying to repair/replace my steering pump and harness (and not a jab at CDJR mechanics at all, just the one in my neighborhood).

Interesting opinion. Granted AI isn’t always right but both chat gpt and Googles AI both say 2021-2023 are the best model years for the JL as of right now.

That being said, I really think it is luck of the draw with this platform. You either have the greatest jeep ever or one that makes you wanna pull your hair out. Time will tell if me buying a 2021 with 50k on it proves to be a bad decision but so far it’s been solid.

Not sure what the big deal is about recalls. Why the worry? You get some free coffee and get to check out the new models in person. Bring your laptop and have a relaxing morning in lounge thinking how smart you were that you didn't buy a Toyota with a v6 turbo.

I had an old Ram once with a recall about an axle bolt or something. I ignored it and it went away.

Seems like I ignored some crash bag recalls, too.

Just went to the MOPAR recall site and entered the VIN for my 2021 Wrangler. It came back with no info on this one.
