Yeah, I got one of those surveys asking about the Gladiator getting a unique front end seperate from the Wrangler. I wouldn't be surprised if it is based on that Anvil Jeep. Other cues to future models is likely the vent behind the fender. And less likely to probably not happening is the Buzzcut top profile. I say probably not happening because tops seem to be one item they really like to experiment with, but don't ever adopt. This EJS we have what, 3 different top treatments in as many Wranglers? The Cherokee is kinda disappointing really. It's so similar to the original. But it would be fun to watch it do trails that the new Cherocar can't do. Line em up side by side and watch that weak little motor trounce the modern one on the trails.
Id be cool with the front end if it only ever ended up on the Gladiator would hate to see it on a Wrangler.

Agreed. I do think this version is not quite as nice as some of the ones that they have done before that harkon back to the 60s and 70s J trucks though. But this one looks like it will be more aerodynamic, and that's probably why I don't like it as much too.

Of these, The Convoy one from last year is preferable to me by a large margin.

I wonder if the 715 concept is a glimpse of what we might expect in the J10 Wrangler in a couple of years. Especially if the deeper engine bay allows for the 3.0 Hurricane.
This is what I am thinking - the hood, hardtop, and interior screen are definitely in the direction I expect them to go.

That's just a tablet on a radio deleted pre 2024 dash. I really hope that ISN'T a sign of the future Wrangler.

Did the Grand Waggoneer concept peel the rear A arm mounts off the frame?

I got a survey from Jeep about future Gladiators and the "full width" front end was asked about a few times.
If they make the front end wider they can finally get a radiator bigger than my Honda Civic in there.

But I don't know how many times I've weaved through trees with very little clearance on the front fenders.

Makes sense. The head of the Jeep brand was talking to somebody in a video interview a couple months ago and he said something to the effect of, "What if Gladiator and Wrangler were separated? Then what could Gladiator become?" Clearly to me it sounded like they are thinking hard about doing more model separation. And with news that Dakota and Gladiator will share a new platform in 2029 model year, it stands to reason that they're likely going to take Gladiator a different direction.

I definitely think that the Anvil is showing off some design elements of the new Gladiator and possibly the Wrangler as well. Looks like they are planning on using some more boxy sharp edges on surfaces. I must say, I'm not a fan. I still think that the JL with the original 2018 grill is one of the sharpest looking Wranglers ever. Part of that is that the design flowed well. It didn't look like someone glued flat chunks together, but that it was sculpted. I'm still not a fan of the 24+ grill and the short height which changed the ratio of the grill so much. But it looks like the new designs are going to likely stick to this more JK shape from now on instead of the more classic CJ, YJ, TJ ratio that the original JL grill was closer too.

Here you go. I think it definitely fits the Glad better.

Jeep Wrangler JL 2026 Easter Jeep Safari Concepts Officially Revealed [Updated With Presentations] {filename}
Congratulations Falcor, you just created the coolest concept vehicle that did not debut at EJS this year.

I don't know what it is about the Gladiator, as they come from the factory it has just never appealed to me in real life. Jeep has never done an XR package Gladiator with 35" tires, which is an oversight I've never been able to figure out. But Falcor's version above, if Jeep were to actually build it, I'd seriously consider buying one. Larger tires and the raised roof with the Land Rover skylights seems to make the dimensions seem... right. Even the goofy front grille, which I hate on the Wrangler, looks great on the Gladiator. Bravo, Falcor!

While I'm at it I might as well comment on Jeep's *actual, non-virtual* concept vehicle lineup.

First off, you gotta' love Marketing hype. In their press release they say, and I quote, "This year’s Easter Jeep Safari concept lineup is the biggest and boldest yet..." Maybe nobody in Jeep's Marketing Department was around in 2012 when they released the FC concept, or the following year when they started stuffing Hemi's in Jeep concepts.

A couple of concepts seem to be showing future design cues that may well show up in the upcoming J70 redesign. The Anvil is showing a subtle fender badge that's a throwback to the old Jeep logo from the '60's. We've seen this on a couple concepts last year as well, I'm thinking that logo might come back with the J70. Another subtle design cue is the chopped roof on the BuzzCut concept. The current chief of design for Stellantis is Ralph Gilles who seems to prefer the chopped roof look in his past portfolio so I'm thinking the J70 overall may carry that look. The previous 2-Door concepts have also had slightly chopped rooflines.

What's missing from the concepts this year is also noteworthy. I don't think a single one of them has a hybrid drivetrain; it was only a short time ago that almost all of the concepts were either all electric (three years of the Magneto) or mostly were based on the 4xe Wrangler.

I don't see a concept based on the Recon either. One would think that part of the upcoming launch of that model it would warrant a concept based on it. I wonder if there will even be any pre-production Recons on display this year?

And the Laredo? I like that a lot. Most significant thing on that Jeep is the inclusion of - get this - a MANUAL transmission! I do not remember the last time a stick shift appeared in a concept Jeep. The Laredo would really make a great 12 for 12 model.

Oh, and one more thing...

I have always thought that Anvil was one of the "fifty shades of gray" colors available over the years on Wranglers. On my laptop screen that vehicle looks to be a green color. It's a really nice version of green, be cool to see that paint code on a Wrangler someday.
