Guys, this is how things look like after 25 minutes of driving on the highway in crappy Seattle rain. Things look just like on 0W-20, so I came to O'Reilly's to grab four more bottles of this good stuff 🤩

I did a careful WOT and my oil pressure stopped at 82 psi just like 0W-20. I can't believe all this.
The maximum oil pressure is regulated by a floating piston and spring usually within the oil pump, therefore your max oil pressure can never exceed that unless you change the spring. This is not recommended unless it's a race engine built for the pressure and running proper lube for the setup.
Too thick of an oil is not good due to flow. The more the numerical spread between the Xw-XX, the faster the oil breaks down as it's less stabil.

@roaniecowpony thanks, I've been a Castrol guy forever, good solid oil IME. My first oil change is coming due in a month or two, it's over 100F here on a regular basis in the summer, might try the 0w-20 or 0w-30.

Pennzoil used to be known as Pencil oil back in my high school autoshop days and nobody would run that sludge monster junk lol.

Yes, their additive package are very different, I will post the VOAs later. 0W-40 looks just like Ultra Platinum except it has higher zddp, while 0w30 has no Moly at all, it's just a weird chemistry. Pennzoil knows the best, but I just picked up what I was comfortable with
If the oil analyzer is from the oil that you have put in your JL than unfortunately you are comparing diesel oil VS gas oil as the blackstone is for euro LX who is diesel oil. Not surprised they have different additive package ;)

No, LX is for gas too, just like ESP. ESP is for diesel too, Euro oils are weird.

Thanks. That's why I will test everything. UOA, magnetic drain plug and inspection of the filter under magnifying glass. If things look good then I am sticking to this awesome oil.

Only difference I noticed is that it took 20 minutes to get a full reading on both sides of the dipstick after I shut the Jeep off with oil temp at 202 degrees. With PUP 0W-20 it took 15 minutes on average. So this oil does take longer to get to the oil pan, naturally. But that doesn't say anything about how oil behaves inside the engine, because inside the engine things are pressurized. That's why people laugh at Project Farm's oil flow tests, because inside the engine it is not gravity that works, it is oil pump pressure, the who inside of engine is pressurized

The Amazon one is too expensive, I will pick this up from Napa today. I'm using it one time only anyway.

Guys, why hasn't my oil temperature changed with 0W-40? I don't get this. Is it because my Jeep is doing a fantastic job of keeping the temperature in check? I don't understand this, what's going on? I can absolutely not tell if I'm running a heavier oil. I will crawl a mountain this weekend to see how things look up there

because we are talking hair splitting number. Also you need a good heat soak to see it.
