I searched for quite a while and did not really find a Starlink setup for my Jeep Wrangler that I liked so I created my own. Mine is a Starlink Mini and is mounted in a 2024 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon. Attaching pictures but here is a brief explanation:

Popped off a 6" piece of plastic on the driver's side roll-bar to reveal 2 threaded lugs in the side of the roll-bar. Made a custom plate out of 3/16" steel. Bought the following bracket from Amazon:

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0DHKL9YHZ?ref_=ppx_hzsearch_conn_dt_b_fed_asin_title_3

The bottom left bolt goes through the bracket and into the roll-bar threaded lug - it obviously takes a metric threaded bolt (some washers on the backside to allow space for the upper bolt that goes through the bracket - see pictures). I then set the angle I needed to get the Starlink to be flat with the roof when drilling the holes into the custom plate I built. I used the pole mount bracket that came with the Starlink Mini (the white piece that slides into the Starlink itself - I did not use the black one that comes with the Amazon order as that pole mount is not compatible with the Starlink Mini - I just needed the black metal bracket and pole from the Amazon order)

Powered the Starlink through the cigarette lighter in the back of the Jeep with this cord from Amazon:

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0DM7YK123?ref_=ppx_hzsearch_conn_dt_b_fed_asin_title_10&th=1

I used this out in Moab and generally had 125 - 150 Mb download speed through the fiberglass roof with the black heat pads as shown in the pictures. Very happy with it and it does not rattle or vibrate.

Hope this helps someone else out!

It looks like you have a headliner. I am curious if you used any of the adhesive foil backed sound dampeners under the headliner. If so, do you feel they are affecting your reception?

I have the hothead liner and the signal won't penetrate it. I have to pull my SOT top back in order to get signal. At some point I am going to cut out the foil they use just around where the starlink is so I can keep my top closed.

I get good reception through my headliner on my hardtop but mine is a OEM Mopar headliner that came with the Jeep. Generally get around d 150mb download which is about the same when I have it mounted flat on the top of my RV while driving. When stopped and properly aligned at the correct angle, I get around 250mb download speed on the Mini, but not really possible to get that speed (at least not yet) when it’s mounted flat while driving.

That is interesting. Tells me that the headliner from hotheads is probably more effective than the mopar one. I definitely have to open the top to get signal.

I am not sure if it has GPS as I just use the GPS on my phone but it does become more useful when you can pull and follow maps.

it sure does. Speeds aren’t blazing fast but it’s enough to keep your devices connected. This was only a 45 minute drive. I wonder if a longer one would lead to better stats.

Here’s my setup, I just plug it into the rear 12v outlet. No problems whatsoever. I am really happy with it.

I like that mount. Did you have to modify it a bit to get the feet to fall between the ribs of the hard top ?

While I think having the internet and other comms and nav available in the jeep is cool, I think I'm going to wait a bit. I think full satellite mobile phones are nearly here. My new mobile service from T-Mobile has satellite text already and they have already let it out that full sat service is coming.

I think they started offering satellite data for a limited number of apps as of October 1.

Yes. If you zoom in on the picture, you can see the metal straps that connect the magnets to the mount. I also used 3M vht tape to attach small metal plates to the roof. I painted the plates to match the top.

I believe that is through their Starlink partnership isn't it?
