1 week after taking delivery of JLU Sahara I started getting a burning smell via the AC upon startup. Seemed to go away after a few minutes. I figured it might be a label or piece of plastic that would go away after a week or two. 3 weeks later its much worse. Yesterday, got white smoke that stopped when I turned off AC. Made service appt for next week (soonest I could get in, even when sayingits on fire!).
Anyone else seeing this? Other than losing my new car smell and smelling like a smokestack, I love it!

Do you have the 2.0 turbo? They are known to spontaneously combust...ha.

I wouldn’t park it in the garage until the dealer sees it.

Hi VinceLori2011,

We are sorry to learn that you are experiencing this concern as well. Have you made your dealer aware of this concern yet? Please send us your VIN and mileage in a PM so that we can provide additional assistance while your vehicle is in service.

Mine jeep jlur bought middle of may does the same thing, I finally had time too drop it off dealership today for recall and oil change and told them to fixed the smell. They said it was normal just exhausted leak , which I replied it's not normal and drove in friends same jeep bought at another dealership and doesn't do that. When i first test drove 2 at that dealership they both did that and sales person said was just the rust undercoating it would burn off and stuff doing that. 5k miles later still doing it. Basically on the highway it will do it or accelerate hard. The smell gives me a sore throat and makes me feel sick just been too busy to do anything about it. I'm going shortly back to dealership to see what they say.

Your dealer said it was normal just exhaust leak?

An exhaust leak into the cabin is very serious and can cause impairment and death.

Said just exhaust fumes coming in cause I have a soft top, yet it comes in from the vent. I got there at 530 and told them come drive with me for 5 mins and u will smell it but they said were to busy as if I'm not busy having to waste 3 hrs of my day driving back and forth there, so told me to come back monday and they will get someone too drive with me then so I'll have to take off another half day to get someone too believe there is a issue‍♂. Sorry end of my rant lol.

This is all after me dropping it off at 7am for my service appointment and I told them to look into that also , I called them at 330 in the afternoon to see if they were finished and they said they never started oil change or recall and they said smell was normal so drove there in rush hour at 5 and they still weren't done nor acknowledge the problem or try to diagnose it

So the dealer attributed your burning smell to a faulty heater core? Was there a leak?

Sounds like maybe you both need an independent mechanic to smell the fumes to determine whether exhaust, coolant or other.
