The 1985 National Scout Jamboree was held at Fort A.P. Hill, Virginia, from July 24 to July 30 with the theme “The Spirit Lives On”. 32,615 Scouts participated in the Jamboree.
The opening arena show used the theme of "75th Anniversary Celebration" and depicted the first 75 years of the Boy Scouts of America. The theme of the closing show was "America Salutes the Boy Scouts of America", and the popular Beach Boys band performed along with a visit by the First Lady.

Yeah a teenager listening to an old lady telling him not to do drugs probably wasn't as attentive as he could have been. I totally forgot she was there.

I like some of their songs but was never a super fan.

I did get to see them in concert in 1985 at the Boy Scout Jamboree. That was pretty cool.

Definitely a band that defined a genre.

I was also at that Jamboree. Fort A.P. Hill, Virginia. Takeaways: New Coke and no Dr Pepper in sight and Hurricane Bob. Good times!

Just one more class for the CDL Academics... will be glad when I have that out of the way. Its just a monotone computer voice reading the text with some stock photos, video and a few maneuvers demonstrated on American Truck Simulator.

Ha, I have that look every day from around Memorial Day to mid September (high tourist season time here). Worse is my golf days coming home past Joe Patti's Seafood (big stop for tourists to load up on seafood before heading out to the beach/condos) and on that road as it goes through downtown Pensacola - worse yet where I get to head away from beach traffic is a roundabout, the dumb assery that takes place there tests my patience. I'm going to propose a law where you are allowed to shoot at a vehicle that comes to a stop, while in the roundabout, not know they have the right away and are to keep moving.

I do try to keep in mind the amount of taxes the contribute to our local and state governments.

I think everyone should be entitled to one brick that we should be able to carry in our cars. It's registered to each person, and you are allowed to assault any one person or property without charge, one time in your life, without consequence.
