Very true for cats, but my dog loved me. My older boy and his wife have cats, casting me as a failure as a father, but they just got a dog so life is good.

It's getting to be that time of year again.

Ha, I have that look every day from around Memorial Day to mid September (high tourist season time here). Worse is my golf days coming home past Joe Patti's Seafood (big stop for tourists to load up on seafood before heading out to the beach/condos) and on that road as it goes through downtown Pensacola - worse yet where I get to head away from beach traffic is a roundabout, the dumb assery that takes place there tests my patience. I'm going to propose a law where you are allowed to shoot at a vehicle that comes to a stop, while in the roundabout, not know they have the right away and are to keep moving.

I do try to keep in mind the amount of taxes the contribute to our local and state governments.

My cat is kind of strange in that she wants attention from me when she wants attention from me. Otherwise, she is somewhere else. When I kick back in the recliner, she comes and sits on the footrest and wants me to pet her for 2 seconds. And then will bite my hand if I pet her longer. Damn cats. Cooper, on the other hand, would be attached to my hip if I let him.

Brian Wilson - Unofficial leader of the Beach Boys, died today. He was 82.

Took me about 30 years after a graduated college to where I could listen to The Beach Boys - my freshman year roommate "discovered" The Beach Boys and played them nonstop the whole year to the point my other roommate started hiding the records (we all went to the same HS so got along). Of course the other roommate was big on The Rolling Stones so that was another band who's music took me awhile to listen to again.

I like some of their songs but was never a super fan.

I did get to see them in concert in 1985 at the Boy Scout Jamboree. That was pretty cool.

Definitely a band that defined a genre.
