Swapped out my 13in AntennaX Off-road for a 15in from AntennaMastsRus. The 15in is stiff (that's what she said) and doesn't flop around in the wind. Reception is slightly better with the the new antenna compared to the AntennaX.

So I gotta get that footwell trim off to get to it. Can I get it just from the door removal trim panel out?
@Kadonny

It is very easy to take that foot well panel off. Maybe 2 mins. to do.

By the way.. in regard to the ground point I gave you a pic of.... Be sure to clean off paint and etc. on it so you make good contact.

Couldn’t seem to upload two photos from my phone but I hardwired my dash cam too via the front lighter. I was hoping to attach it to the mirror so it was a bit more hidden but it wasn’t going to stay so this will have to do.

Link to that camera?

How hard was it to break loose the bolts on the hood as they are painted same time as whole hood.
Had no problem at all, in fact didn't notice anything more than regular unbolting.

I like that. I have the 13" AntennaX, and though I don't see any degradation in performance nor do I experience the wind flopping at speed, I don't like how the base of it isn't flush. Is yours flush? And what's the link to it, if you don't mind?

What kind of paint did you use? Also did you sand them prior? Prep work?
I cleaned, but did not and the inserts. They have a bit of texture to them and I find sanding plastic has mixed results.
I used 4 coats of Rustoleum Cherry Red Pain+ Primer Satin finish.
Then sanded with 400 then 800 grit sand paper to reduce some but not all of the texture that survived the primer coats. (I was not going for perfect smooth)
Then 3 coats of Rustoleum Cherry Red Gloss.
Then 2 coats of High Gloss clear enamel.

The videos about taking it off seem dated, there are now three spring steel clips around each headlight keeping that part of the insert snug.

Fun Fact: People were mentioning above Rubicon / Sahara grills. This one was clearly marked as a "Sahara" grill on the back, even though it was what came on my Rubicon. Not sure if there really is 2 different ones or not.

Took the soft top off and threw on my Cargo Cover and Sunshade before hitting the trail. Also got around to slapping my hood decals on.

I will not be participating in this forum as of 8/31/2018. It's been a fun ride, but it's time to move on. Take care. - Dustin
