My HPFP cashed out on my 2021 JKURD with 21k miles on it a few weeks ago. Wife was driving it and was sitting in traffic when it died and gave an error "service electronic throttle". Dealer found a bunch of metal in the fuel pump.

Just sharing for those keeping score.

Thought about possibly picking up a dues diesel unit.. I had thought the issue had been resolved already? Apparently not

was the recall performed on yours before it croaked?

I am still chasing down the coolant leak that I won in the HPFP recall game.

would love to hear back from @JeepOffroadTech ; although he's been on here since i quoted his post, he didn't reply.
if it's the recall replacement, it would be the first failure of one i remember hearing of.

for now, i'm betting he just didn't do the Recall (for whatever reason) and it finally came around to bite him.

Take a close look at the seem on the coolant tank. I had a very hard time narrowing mine down it would leak ever so slightly and obviously only under pressure when warm. Jeep ended up replacing it under warranty.

Sorry must have missed the alert. The recall wasn't performed on my JLURD before it failed. I tried to get it in late 2023 and was told there wasn't a fix yet, then after the solution was announced, I was told it could take up to 8 weeks. Letting the dealer sit on my Jeep for that long didn't work for my schedule at the time.

thanks for the response!

sorry to hear all that.
while the repair skeds were absurd initially, eventually (better) dealers were able to do the repair same-day (as mine did).

sadly, in your case, they're now going to get to do the full fuel system refresh, which will cost them more, and take everyone more time. i won't be surprised if it takes more than 8 weeks now.

good luck, keep us posted!

Well the good news is, you'll get a completely new fuel system. the bad news is that it will take longer AND its more invasive.
As I've mentioned previously, I had the 'basic' repair done on mine which was just the HPFP and the bare minimum stuff that has to go when that's replaced. Even with the least-invasive approach, I'm now chasing down the coolant leak concern.
Good luck!

I’m finally scheduled to have my HPFP replaced on my 21 JLURD after more than a year on a dealer waiting list. They called and said they received 2 pumps and decided I had waited long enough. Going in this Wednesday.

Now I have to get my 21 JTOD which I purchased used last year on a list. Fortunately, I have not had any issues with either one.

Is anyone still using fuel treatment after getting theirs replaced? I'm still using the Hotshots EDT but I'm thinking about either switching to Opti-Lube XPD or discontinuing now that the HPFP was replaced.

@jberry187 I continued to use the Hotshots after my HPFP was replaced. I'm planning to change to the Optilube when I'm ready to do my next oil change. I believe (hope) the Hotshots is what is causing the potassium to show up in my used oil analysis instead of coolant. That fuel additive video does indicate potassium is in their fuel additive.

Of course, the absence of a failure after the HPFP replacement isn't proof the fuel additive was the reason.

My recommendation is to change over to XPD earlier than that if you're hoping to clear the system of any treatment-related potassium contamination. The fuel additive video mentioned how it takes a while to clear out from your fuel system after you discontinue use.
I just ordered my jug of XPD and will discontinue Hotshots once it arrives since I need to pinpoint the coolant smell in the cabin of my JLURD.
