I installed a curt hitch when I first got my Wrangler a month ago. Installed in 10 minutes.

Today I installed the harness - took me 2 hours but was EASY. - $93.25 (the one thing I am proud of is that I got so strategic with my wiring that I NEVER used a zip tie . Also I didnt even have to drill through the firewall. Ran it under the jeep on the drivers side then up through hood and over to battery. I made sure the wires and VERY hidden (I ran them inside of the opening of the rock rails) and away from anything that could get potentially hot.

The total for this project DIY = $182.60 (Free labor! )


Jeep quoted me $700 for everything. Not a bad $500 savings just by doing it myself. Also, this is a 3000+ lbs towing hitch.

I installed the same hitch, it was a very easy install. Did you have any issues with the wiring? I cannot get the factory break light unplugged. I spent about 20minutrs on it and walked away before I got frustrated and broke it. Any tricks?

There is a red lever you have to slide back then press down and pull.

Thanks, I did slide back the lever but didn’t press down. Will give that a try.

Just a quick maintenance wash trying to beat the afternoon showers. Added a topcoat of Chemical Guys Butter Wet Wax on 1 side to see how it performed. It worked well - no waiting for it to haze, just apply and buff right off if you so choose.

He just overlaid the black over the red.

Swapped out my brother's Recon wheels and put them on my wife's JL Sport S. He got him some Fuel Beast wheels. It made a difference on both Jeeps
