But if the new one could be had for about 42k. Why would you buy out?

-Zero History
-New Warranty Coverage
-New model updates, Fixed Recalls, Etc.
-Mileage at 0
-Skip the maintenance coming up
Don't forget to add 10.25% LA tax rate! Now you are at $46k. :/

Glad you brought this up... it's is the unfortunate truth and that's why I had mentioned in the OP i'd need to keep the new purchase below $37k max to make it comparable.

So I looked up THIS 4xe... Great price ($43K vs $60K sticker). However the fine print alone gives me red flags.

" Price does not include dealer pre-installed accessories: Starguard: $1395, Appearance Protect: $995, Pulse rear-end collision deterrent: $695, ClearShield: $395, Ally Theft Protect: $799. "

So they are adding $4300 back to the dealer discount! Wtf?
Very common in Los Angeles area where I am... then there's taxes of 10.25% title license and we're in the $50k range.

There's a nice Sting Gray '23 4xe Rubicon body color hardtop down the street at the Jeep dealer for $45,936 (asking) with only 9500 miles on it. That's not far from new.
Not far from new for that year, go look at a 24 4xe Rubicon.

I'll still be the devil's advocate. It really comes down to the dealership. I bought my Gladiator for 25% under MSRP when it was unheard of. The only option they added was some GPS tracker after wanting me to pay for accessories. I don't remember what I paid for it but it was about a grand. I still came out way on top.

Comes down to your negotiation skills.

A search in a 200 mile radius came back with 2500 of them. That is a crazy high amount of 4xe. That is excluding the gassers.

I'm going to be willing to bet. The dealerships are losing money on these every month. You have to remember that these Jeeps are currently being financed and they pay interest on every unit they don't sell. They will play hardball, but always remember that you call the shots and don't act desperate. Don't run any numbers until you have the right deal. They will try to bait you with a low "monthly payment" with a high interest and long term loan.
