BFG Trail Terrain Tires

I couldn't sleep knowing that Nokian Tyres Outpost AT were made in Russia... so, I got a new set of American made BF Goodrich Trail Terrains... loving them so far (early), and will update again after a 1,000 miles.

I have just put on Nokian WS4 tires on my Ford Explorer. These are a all weather tire and work great in the summer, perfect in the winter in Oh and MI.
Thye make a good tire at a competitive price.

Made in Russia, pretty sure no one does winter like Russia does..... Im sure they know tires/Tyres pretty well.

Russia has brutal winters, Tires made in Russia. Russia knows winter and tires. Nokian makes some of the best winter tires.

SO….. The tires @PolyFan referred to may very well have been made in Russia…. Nokian pulled out of Russia 7/23…. Hasn’t been long ago. The plant in Russia is now known as Ikon.

Lots of manufacturers an companies moved out of Russia. Even McDonalds. Does it mean that Russians were the best of making burgers???

So let me get this straight you already owned the tires and then you have them removed because they were made in Russia but the money had already changed hands and nokian tires ended up with the money anyway and nokian isn't based in Russia.

Sounds about right… But, it “was” based in Russia. I’m sure someone will be along shortly with more GOOGLE intellect to confirm or deny and make into something else, then cry when prove them wrong…. But, what do I know?

I bought a set of stock bfg’s and wheel off a new 22 XR and LOVE the wheels. The tires now have 30k and I just drove up to Tahoe this wekend…historic snow. 6’ in 3 days and they have been flawless. That being said I plan to buy MT Baja Boss AT next fall when I need to replace. Yes they are heavier but love everything I am reading about them. BFG makes an amazing tire, over 30k on them and they grip amazing on snow, ice and rain? Tires are a very personal subject and even though I am changing brands I am very impressed with the BFG act’s.
