For wet performance I was thinking more like the General Grabber ATX, Toyo Open Country A/T III, or Cooper Discoverer AT3 4S as alternatives to the Falkens. I agree the KO2 aren’t the greatest in wet weather, according to all the reports.
For wet weather, there is no better all-terrain tire than the Falken. In fact, "wet" is what one of the "W's" in the name stands for. These tires are specifically designed to excel in rain, snow, etc.

I wouldn't touch a Nitto/Toyo tire with a ten foot pole if bad weather was my concern.

As far as the Mickey Thompson tires that everybody and their mom keeps talking about, what's so special about those? They are just another one of the seventeen brands made by Cooper, and Cooper apparently sold their souls to Goodyear, so I'm not sure I'd ever touch one of those brands again. Especially when you've got premium tires like Falkens that you can buy for less money.

Your real-life review will be of interest to me, as I'll be replacing tires in the next couple of months. Thanks!
Well the tires are still stacked up in my garage. I think I'll go to Discount Tire and have them put on Thursday. Lots of rain and snow here lately, so it'll be a great time to review them.

Big decision I have to make is which sidewall do I want out? The flat but textured lettering, or the raised black lettering? Hmmm.......

I have seen multiple versions of that "limit", including that the 85 lbs is weight beyond the stock wheel/tire. Lots of people put stuff on the inside of their door (grills, etc), so it seems unlikely that simply increasing the weight of the whell ad tire would cause a problem.
The bigger issue is making sure there is tight contact with the tire stop so it doesn't move around - that would certainly cause stresses on the door.

It is the vertical stress and tire holder/carrier connection that has the limitations

Thanks! Yes, big decision ahead! ? I'm sure they'll look great either way, but look forward to seeing/hearing how they look/feel on your ride.

I think I'm going this route once they are available (time???), WILDPEAK A/T4WLT 285 /75 R17 117R C1 BSW

I currently have MT Baja Boss 315/70/17 while they are not to the wear bars (47kish miles), they've gotten exponentially louder in the last 3k miles. They've been a decent tire, but from what I'm reading, these A/T4W look to be a better fit for my rig and driving.

Looks like they are available in limited quantities at this time. Hope you don't mind a DM headed your way.

Your experience is mirroring mine exactly, as I have about the same mileage on my MTs. They have been great off-road and on-road when it comes to traction and performance (including pavement wet), but mine also have increased significantly in noise level as they've aged, though I have a fair bit of tread still left. After reading all here, leaning toward these, particularly after I hear a few first-hand accounts.

I think part of the problem is, all have become badly cupped. Which is interesting, I would have thought the cupping would have been more of a thing earlier in life with taller blocks. .....shrug.....

But we just drove to Asheville for the weekend and the noise was terrible, so they are being replaced even with prob another 5k miles of tread depth remaining.

My only concern on this Falken is the 285, may look like a pizza cutter compared to the 315. But I think it will be best as I don't have low fenders so I get a lot of rubbing at full flex. Thinking this help with also being a bit smaller diameter than the MT.

Decided to mount mine to my Super Duty that I use to haul my off road toys to the area off road parks. Should be a great long term test to see how these will hold up. Rainin', snowin', and towin'! Here we go!

35x12.50R18 on 18x9 wheels. Speedo is 1 MPH off at highway speeds. Ride is fantastic. Road noise super low, but audible.

Road force balance numbers were:

LR: 17
RR: 18
RF: 20
LF: 40(!)

They said they'll replace the one bad tire if it gives me trouble. They did use the yellow balancing marks aligned with the valve stems. So far the ride is fine to me so I'll just keep an eye on it.

Last year I bought a new set of 35x11.50R20 Falken Wildpeak R/T tires and two of the four were showing very high road force. Falken replaced two of those. So ALWAYS get your road force numbers when you have new tires installed.

That looks really good. Thanks for sharing the pic. Getting more and more convinced. I'm replacing my tires this month or next. Schedule is killing me now, but ready for htre swap as soon as I can find the time.
