You have wheels not rims, but either way 8.5" is not a narrow wheel for a 275mm width tire. The typically recommended wheel width for a 275mm width tire will be 7.0" - 9.0" or 7.5" - 9.5". 8.5" width wheels are not narrow.
Wouldn't he have both, as all wheels have rims!? ?

I'm wondering if they'll build 265/70-18 size in this tire or will some of us have stay with the A/T3s. Where are these tires made?

The A/T4W is available in the 265/70R 18 size. Looks like @azwjowner is spot on as far as country of origin.

So many better options made in the USA.
examples of usa made alternatives? Looking for an AT with snow rating. Have not owned Falkens but fairly common choice here in the Rocky Mountains.

And I buy those USA-made tires from Discount Tire, who always provides fantastic service, to be clear. (So we're not completely ruining their thread).
Same here. They also price match Costco.

BFG - KO2
MICKEY THOMPSON - BAJA BOSS A/T
GENERAL - GRABBER A/TX
TOYO - OPEN COUNTRY A/T III

BTW, nothing against the Falkens, just that are not made in the US.

Was pretty interested until I saw the weight. Now I feel like Shallow Hal

285/70 65 lbs?
285/75 68 lbs?

That’s 15 lbs a tire over the BFG T/A KO2 285/70 and 8-10 lbs a tire vs Toyo open country 285/70 & 286/75.

As much as I love the Wildpeaks AT3’s on my Subaru, and was really thinking about upgrading my Willys to the AT4’s when I need too, the weight of them for the size I want makes me STOP and second guess.

I’m a weight control type, been that way with my MTB’s back in the day, and now with my newer Jeeps. This is especially true when it comes to unsprung weight on the axles. Now I do understand that for some folks out there, they need a hefty tire to do what they are doing. I’ll admit it, 75% of my time is spent on the road anymore with my Jeep. Most of the land that used to be open for me to play on is closed or has a new development of Apartments on it, or bulldozed flat to make it more acceptable for sale.

The other thing is that I still try and do as much maintenance on my Jeep as I can. At a soon to be 68 years young, a 5 tire rotation can take a lot out of me, especially the dead lift to get the Spare back on the Jeep with out damage to anything.

I did a tire compare of the AT3, AT4, and the new KO3 tires and I am swaying towards the KO3’s.

I just installed these on my sport s replacing the MICHELIN LTX M/S2. Stuck with stock 32s ,as not getting a lift. Huge upgrade.

Pleasantly surprised how quiet. They are close to the same loudness of the Michelins, I kid you not.

I'm in Wisconsin and we have just been hammered with winter. Which is what made me replace the Michelins, they are just awful and unsafe. The Falcons have great traction snow and ice. I had to stop hard on a snow packed road from a deer. These saved me. The Michelins I would have hit for sure.

Another positive is the Falcons look great. Also got $40 less per tire than K02s. I couldn't get K03s, not in stock, and would have cost even more. Would like to have bought American made. But given my timetable, buying a current technology upgraded tire, and at better price I'm satisfied so far.
