Hey gang. Somewhat new to all the jeep fun. I have a 2021 Sahara Altitude. I just put 295/70/18 Nitto Ridge Grapplers on the Stock rims. I have 1.5 inch wheel spacers. No lift. They look awesome! Question for you experts out there..........The 295/70/18 are 10lbs heavier than the 285/70/18. The 285/70/18 are .3 shorter and .25 narrower....so very little difference. Will the 10 lbs lighter make for a better ride and affect gas mileage enough to go down in size? I have 30 days to swap them out. Would love to hear what you guys think.

I could also go with the Nitto Reacon Grappler in the 295/70 which are roughly 6lbs lighter

Really depends on intended usage. If you’re spending 99% of the time on road, the alternative 53lb SL rated Recon Grappler would likely provide a smoother OE type ride, but I think you’ll be fine with what you have. Looks great as is?. Your OE tire was around 37lbs and you’ve made the jump to a load range E tire at nearly 70lbs, so probably noticeable. With that said, the 33.86” load range C Ridge Grapplers on my Sahara are 66lbs and I have zero complaints. The weight difference was noticeable at first, but only for a couple days. I know I’m going to wear out parts a little faster with the extra weight, but I don’t mind and it wasn’t a deterrent. Good luck with your journey!

Thanks for the info! I am going to make the change to the SL's as I do not go off road.

You still have some time to make a decision, so I’d continue to drive, research, and gather opinions. Your tire shop should be able to provide some guidance. I spend 99% of my time on road as well, and my load range C RG’s are quiet and perform well. No complaints, other than the weight.

Change of Heart. The Ridge Grapplers just look too good.! I am going to ride them for a few more weeks. If anything I may go down to a 285/70/18. Thanks for all the info
