Warranty work for Corrosion

I had one dealer try that with me, because they didn't want to bother with it. I took it to another dealer and they hooked me right up. They took the pictures and filed the claim and sent my Jeep out to a third party body shop to do the work. They even gave me a brand new Cherokee as a loaner for three weeks.

same thing here. I had moved and started using the Local dealer. When it came to the paint they told me to pound sand. Last time I go there.
called the dealer back home and they took care of it. Guess where my next rides coming from. Cost me 2 3 hour rides but at least I can count on them.

I got lucky that I have two decent dealers within an hour drive of my house. The dealer that I went to for the corrosion that told me to pound sand is one of the worst dealers in the area. Maybe that's why they went out of business

Just got mine back from its third repaint for this issue. Went to the dealer and filed a claim. They submitted it to corporate who approved it after a three week wait. I used a well respected third party shop for the work.

Tell the dealer you want the new hinges that have the zinc plates attached to them. There is a tsb for this.

I just got mine back this evening for the second go-around of repairs. First time in was in May-2023. They repaired the blisters on all 4 doors, hood & tailgate and replaced all of the hinges with the new style. 30 days later the hood blistered again, and about 60 days after that, I discovered a new blister on the left rear door.

So yesterday & today they replaced the hood and door with new ones. The body shop did an incredible job and so far my dealer and Stellantis have really stepped up!

My understanding is that the warranty will end at the 5 year mark. But I would certainly pursue a claim if the corrosion appears again after it's been repaired.

Yeah, some shops even say lifetime and I couldn't believe it because of the fact that its such a known problem.

If I had to guess, I think if they replace your panels, it should be covered by the shops lifetime guarantee (if they have one) if it's the original doors/hinges, maybe FCA should pony up.

The estimator at the shop said when picking it up, any issues, bring it back, corrosion or not and they'll deal with the dealer...

I had mine done by an independent body shop. He said he'd warranty his work as long as it was a new panel that he prepped and painted. The other parts that were just repaired were for the dealer to take care of.

In my case, the dealer claims me the sealed revision book and the Jeep bought it second-hand and it has no book and it is 4 years old. Does the technical bulletin oblige to repair the rust?
Another question, all the markets are marked with X so in Europe the guarantee also applies.

I found corrosion on my hood. My local dealership said yes it would be covered but I can't go through them bc they use a third party body shop not one at the dealership. Does anyone know if I am required to go to a dealership to get the work done or can I go to any FCA approved shop?

I made two calls to different dealerships. One said pls hold and I got a recording. The second one said I had to go to the dealership I bought the Jeep from. My dealership has me at #50 in the wait list, I started out at 90 last year.

I amhaving all four doors, hood ,and rear tailgate replaced and repainted. What I am wondering is if there is a warranty for the work done currently. i certainly do not want to find problems down the road and find out it is no longer covered. Anyone know the answer to this?

Any warranty on the repair would have to come from the shop doing the work. Jeep warranty is drop dead 5 years.
