Pay for warranty work??

So, does $6500 sound right for a new transmission?

If that includes labor, that sounds about right. When we were dealing with transmission issues on my wife’s Ram we were told about $3500 for a rebuild and about $6000-$7000 for a whole new transmission.

Chrysler refuses to cover it and I'm told the repair will be over $6,000. They say no sign of mechanical failure.

Have you shared the dealers’ conclusion with an independent mechanic? Maybe even drop him a few bills to go with you to the dealer.
