But... JK! eeesh ? ?
I'll admit my all time favorite is CJ ('76 - '86), with the TJ coming in 2nd ?
.... but your points are well taken.
I like the YJ's myself. If I ever get the extra cash sitting around and want to pimp out something old, it's definitely going to be a YJ.

So if the only way someone can afford a Jeep is get the sport they can't get a V6 Man that's so wrong. That's why I'll be keeping my 18 Rubicon automatic V6 I love it

Maybe I've been under a rock for too long, but pricing out a new Wrangler, I see you can no longer get the 3.6L V6 with the 8 speed auto trans. The pricer forces the 2.0L I4 on you if you want the auto trans.

When did that happen?

Best,
-Tim
Bad version of the 2024 builder.

For everyone complaining about the cost you are mad at the wrong people.

the Wrangler has always cost the same, what has changed is how many imaginary fiat dollars they want for one. Inflation is a bitch and it’s just starting.

Are JL's an upgrade from the JK? Obviously, yes. Do they have better Dana 44s? Also yes. Are they better at off-roading than JK's? It depends. Do they come standard with bigger tires and a slight lift kit on the rubicons? Yes. Can you get the same results off-road out of a JK Rubicon for less money than you can a JL Rubicon? Most definitely you can. Are they the same vehicle? No. Are they pretty much the same vehicle? Yes, albeit a downgraded version.

For $52,000 I could buy a basic optioned JK Rubicon, and aftermarket I could equip a lift, 35-in tires, beadlock rims, full skid plates, front and rear bumpers, a warn winch, a fastback soft-top, and get the windows fully ceramic tinted.

Or I could buy a 2024 basic optioned JL Rubicon which will get annihilated on the same trails I could run with the JK for the same price.

It's not about technical specs, it's about paying more for less.
I don't think that's a valid comparison. You could start with a $1,500 minivan, drop $50k into offroad mods, and outwheel a new factory stock JL rubicon and still save $500.

The JL is the newer and a better platform to start with.

Not sure etorque is still a thing
Yeah I'm aware and if you go back and look, I quoted and corrected Tool Guy. He was looking at the 2023 builder and accidently thought it was still a thing.

Very happy with my torque. At least I don’t have two batteries

You sure do have two batteries, a 12v and 48v lol... And before you get bent out of shape I was not putting down the etorque. Merely pointing out it was absent with the 2024 v6 auto, where it was forced on buyers the last few years.
