My wife’s Jeep ( 2021 JL sport wrangler) has the stock crappy halogen headlights, we were looking at upgrading to LED’s but the dealership says they won’t do it because it’s too much of a pain and other issues. Anyone have any opinions on this or suggestions for a way to do it? Thanks in advance

They said the same thing to me and said if they do it, it will be around $800.....I ended up taking it on myself and succeeded...The hardest part was wiring it. Its been 2 years since having it, great upgrade...If I was to do it again, I would go with another after market that didnt need running wires and messing with BCM....There are some great options out there ----

Check your headlight harness. My 2021 had 4 wires and the OEM LED swap was plug and play (and enabled the halo with a Tazer).

If you have a 3 wire headlight harness, it is a pain as you have to run the wire for the halos.

On my 2020, I installed the Oracle headlights. They are great and only have to run one wire to the underhood fuse box for the halos.

Beamtech led replacements for your stock halogens from Amazon. After install you will need to redirect them down as the light cut off is not quite the same. Drop in replacement. You do have tuck the voltage ? Converter inside the rear cover but it does fit. Been running these near three years now. Very bright. Not my idea it's covered elsewhere in a old thread. Tom

In the lower portion of THIS post is the way I handled the LED upgrade on the wife's JLU.

Geez, since when "...it is too much pain" is a valid dealer response? And it seems to be increasingly common, too.

These dealers need a good ole recession to learn and reset their priorities.

Seconding the beamtech option. Are they as bright as projector lamps? No. (And personally I wanted to keep the stock reflectors with the little Wrangler grill in them) But they're a vast improvement over the stock ones for only 40 bucks, and a very easy self install. Been very happy with mine since I got them. I have no issues seeing at night anymore, and after I got them aimed properly haven't been flashed at all.

Maybe, maybe not.

I installed the Beamtechs in my JLU. One of them matched the factory aim of the halogen bulb precisely. The aim of the other one had to be lowered fractionally, which I accomplished by simply removing and reinstalling the headlight assembly, adjusting the final torque of the top bolt very slightly. Done and done.

This particular upgrade deserves the recognition it receives here. Money well spent.

That's what I did about 3 days after getting my 2021 Sport S. I put tape on my garage wall to mark where the stock headlights cut off, and the Beamtechs were identical as far as I could tell. I never adjusted them and I have not been flashed in over 2 years of driving with them.

For the price you can't beat them. Are they as good as dedicated $800 full LEDs, probably not but they are a HUGE improvement over the lousy halogens.

I got the ones without the cooling fans, figuring that was just one more thing to gum up and die. The slightly less output with no fan is fine for me, they are still a massive improvement.

I replaced my halogen bulbs with Beamtechs. Plug-and-play.

So many choices to choose from and for the most part an easy project. Key is finding one that is "plug and play". I opted for:
https://www.roughcountry.com/jeep-led-headlights-rch5300.html

Just had to run the DRL wire to the fuse box, easily connects with supplied adaptor for fuse 52.
Great lights and very bright, just have to keep an eye out for oncoming traffic, might blind them with high beams on. I swear they light up 1/2 mile down the road. No flickering at all

I do like the new Diode Dynamic

https://www.diodedynamics.com/elite-led-headlamps-for-2018-2022-jeep-jl-wrangler.html

gotta wait for some reviews on them.
