I don't know if it's just me, but I'm having one hell of a time adjusting these Fox 2.5 elite DSC shocks for crawling. :headbang: I 'm getting a lot more body roll (side to side) than I would expect when boulder crawling...I mean head slamming body roll.... My setup is: MC 3.5" (392) game changer lift, 37" STT Pro's, about 600 lbs of skid plates, bumper, winch, steps, etc. The shocks where tuned by Accutune for the Adventure tune. I've gone from one end of the spectrum for adjustment settings to the other, i.e. full CW on both in several steps and full CCW also, and many combination in between. It's hard to say, but I basically don't notice any difference in motion at different settings. I curious as to what other folks are experiencing, body roll wise, with the Fox 2.5 shocks when boulder crawling.
How low are you airing down? I too have 37" Cooper STT Pro's and I noticed a big improvement going from 12psi to 6-8psi, things became way more plush, it makes everything feel less harsh including body roll. I have a bit different setup as i'm running Accutune's Fox 2.0 DSC coilovers but adjusting the DSC's didn't help as much as getting beadlocks and airing down low, these Coopers are stiff and can give you a harsh ride unless you air down low.

I don't have beadlocks....I've been airing down to 15psi....

Not saying there isn't an issue with your shocks but 15psi with these Coopers in the rocks will feel harsh, mine does. I think you could safely go down to 12psi to see if it helps, I ran 12psi for years on my JK and my JL before beadlocks.

Thanks for the feedback....I'll give that a try....maybe beadlocks are next....

I have non-accutuned DSCs on my 392. I've been playing with the adjustments on the street, but I can confirm a significant difference with adjustments. For example, I recently adjusted my front a little stiffer on the LSC side to keep the weight of the 392 in check - worked well with only needing 2 additional clicks.

Sounds like maybe somethign isn't right. Do you notice a substantiative change if you drive it on the street?

John at Accutune said that the shocks may have to be revalved.....I'm trying to avoid that...thinking I just haven't hit the ideal setting yet.....that's why I'm asking with other folks are setting the shocks at...
I use the Dual Sport Tune on my 4xe and I am able to adjust to the Road and to the trail with good results.
Slow Speed 3 clicks / High Speed 1 click in town.
Slow Speed 5 clicks / High Speed 1 click on the Interstate.
Slow Speed 7-8 clicks / High Speed 4-5 clicks on a moderate trail.

I considered the Adventure Tune but my Jeep guy who has wheeled with me talked me out of it. I am glad he did. Just my observations on my Jeep. I am a little heavy at 6100#

Thanks for the setting feedback....I assume the settings are starting from full CCW...
I'm about the same weight 6060 lbs. I was thinking about the Dual Sport tune but Accutune talked me out of it...go figure...

Later in the day, I took a ride out to a close by trail...aired down to 12 psi....smoother when traveling on the gravel....but no difference in the boulders as far as body roll is concerned....

You sure it’s not a spring issue with the transition from ride rate to droop rate on the MC dual rates?

Youll have steady ride rate to stuff on the up side, but transition to droop rate in the middle of the down side.

Edit: and you lucky bastard with your random afternoon Sedona trail runs. :)

What you're saying does sound interesting. I would think the shocks would be tuned to take care of that. Accutune has you fill out a form stating lift type, add on weights and tire type/size.

I do run Fox bumps in the front which does slow down the last 2 inches of up travel.

I do run the MC coils, I don't think that is your problem.

I haven't even thought about bump stops...are you getting much body roll in the rocks?

Just thinking out loud for troubleshooting.

Shocks at ride height, per another post of yours: Front 23" Rear 26 3/8"

Impact of front outboard shock brackets, using my measurements without (Front 24.25) = 1.25". (Not sure how accurate this is).

Shocks limits (Fox 2.5 Elite 4.5-6"):
Front Shocks:
Extended 30.510"
Compressed 18.340"
Front Shocks converted for outboard shock brackets:
Extended 31.76"
Compressed 19.59"
Rear Shocks:
Extended 32.300"
Compressed 19.430"

Bump Limits (Assuming stock jounces are fully compressible, doesn't look like you're using Durosprings per the pics in the other thread):
Front: 16.25" Stock + 1.5" Assumed 392 extension + 2" Metalcloak = 19.75"
Rear: 17" Stock + 3" Metalcloak = 20"
So, flex:
Front (Shock Travel):
Uptravel, Bump Limited: 23"-19.75" = 3.25"
Droop, Shock Limited: 31.76"-23" = 8.76"
Rear (Shock travel):
Uptravel, Bump Limited: 26.375" - 20" = 6.375"
Droop, Shock Limited: 32.30" - 26.375" = 5.925"

Not sure what you are saying about "doesn't look like you're using Durosprings"....I ordered the 3.5" 392 Game changer suspension kit# A5335 that should have Durosprings. I found the part no. on the front springs (SS-2134/16984). I found a photo of the box MC shipped the springs in I wonder if I have the correct springs...
Do you think Fox bump stops (that another poster with a 4Xe mentioned) would help in controlling the body roll I'm experiencing?

Durosprings are the Metalcloak Progressive Jounce Bumpers:
