Hi,
Was changing my transfer case oil mp3022 and noticed this oil, brown in colour, high on the transmission? If it was the transmission it should be red?

Anyone heard of common issues?

Thanks ?

I would clean it all up and recheck in a week and see if you can trace it. Possibly check back side of the engine closest to firewall.

Got under there at the car was yesterday to wash it off, I keep an eye on it to see if it comes back. I was considering the oil cooler. Thanks

just take a flashlight and look right down under the intake near the oil filter cap. If it’s full of oil, there’s your leak.

Who’s been doing engine oil changes? If not all done by yourself, a spill is possible. And there’s always the weak design of the oil filter housing, check that too.

Good comment I had the oil changed at Jiffy 2 days before, I’ll clean it up and check again ? that would be great if that’s all it was.
How would I check the housing, I thought the oil would indicate that, thanks

You clean it up and it comes back. That’s about the only way.

Spilling enough to run down the back of the transmission is very unlikely. It’s probably leaking, either from the cap or the base.

Thank you Sir. I was able to clean it out tonight and will keep an eye on it. Did you replace yours, if so did you go with Mopar?
