I have a 2018 Jlur that I’ve bought in March of ’18. One of the 1st mods was to install the Autostop eliminator to turn of the stop/start. Which I leave on so the Jeep doesn’t turn off.
My question is. My Jeep is 4 years old and I still have my the original batteries and I want to delete the auxiliary battery.
What can I do to permanently remove the auxiliary battery on my Jeep?

I installed the @Genesis Offroad Dual battery setup. Technically the connections are still there for the aux battery and ESS still functions. But for the way I drive a manual, it’s barely noticeable (and often I turn it off).

Did you remove the auxiliary battery?
I watched the install video of the system but it doesn’t say anything about removing the auxiliary battery.

It is removed. The positive aux terminal connects to the starter positive.

Oh when you said aux battery, I was thinking for the ESS in the none mild hybrid version. I think the ETorgue is a different animal and can’t be easily removed, that battery is also under the driver side just in front of the rear axle. I think even Genesis setup would still retain that system.

Yes, But it still has a seperate AUX battery correct? Not just the 48v Battery. I am talking about up in the engine compartment.

I’m not familiar with the setup on them. My Jeep and my parents both have the standard ESS, I haven’t been close enough to the mild hybrid systems to know anything about them.

Mine will be here tomorrow. Won't install it for a month though. Lol.

If you have eTourque, you do not have the AUX battery under the hood. The 48v battery took its place.

I'd guess that you have a 3.6L. If so, you can follow this. https://www.jlwranglerforums.com/forum/threads/3-6l-ess-aux-battery-bypass.17293/

It involves shorting the N1 and N2 terminals in the Power Distribution Center. Additionally, two black cables from the factory are connected to the negative post of the main battery. At the other end of one of these cables it is connected to the body ground on the front passenger's quarter panel. Leave that cable connected.

Disconnect the other cable's connection to the negative post on the main battery. This other cable's end is on the negative post of the Aux battery.

Now, all calls for current from the Aux battery are rerouted to the main battery. Please don't engage ESS (I've read you won't) after this change. You tax your cranking battery during an ESS event if you do.

I've taken the liberty of interpreting this question of yours " What can I do to permanently remove the auxiliary battery on my Jeep? " as

" What can I do to permanently remove the auxiliary battery on my Jeep from the vehicle's electrical system? "

If you also want to physically remove the Aux battery, an optional step, there's this https://www.jlwranglerforums.com/fo...ent-the-easy-way-pull-the-fender-flare.56807/ on accessing the battery from the front passenger's wheel well. This battery can also be removed through an open hood, links for the latter available on request.

What does Genesis off for the Etorque for dual batt setup then?
Not an expert but my guess is the dual battery setup is so you don't draw down your cranking battery running accessories.

Our system does not touch the 48v eTorque battery system at all. That's a completely different system. It uses electric power to help get the vehicle rolling from a stop, then the gas engine takes over.

The main idea of our dual battery system to allow you to run your aftermarket electrical accessories with the engine off, without killing your cranking battery.

Even with the eTorque system, your 12v accessories run from the normal battery under the hood. We let you run your accessories from a second battery under the hood so that you're not draining down your cranking battery.

Hope this helps!

For sure. I knew all about the 48v battery. I just didnt know on the E-Torque if yall had a 2 battery setup that works on the 3.6l Etorque. I am wanting to do exactly what you described. If I Dont have a second smaller aux battery, Can I still install your 2 battery setup.
