Customer centric organizations strive to sympathize and understand their customers by directly communicating with them. Their aim is to solve their customers’ problems in ways that delight their customers.

@JeepCares this is for you

Let’s help Jeep by answering the following question:
  • What problem would you want your future Jeep Wrangler to solve?
I know we’re eager to suggest features or solutions (I do too), but try framing your needs/wants as a problem statement. It’s the job of the engineers at Jeep to be innovative and figure out what’s possible.

I’ll give examples below.

Problem: I want the open air experience of sides all around open while also being able to close the Jeep up in a way that does not obstruct visibility, that is well sealed at all speeds, that doesn’t require adjustments, and built to last.

Translation: Half doors and soft top is great, but door uppers’ current design obstructs visibility, results in gaps between door edge at top and door frame at high speed, uppers adjustment mechanism (legs) are fragile and hard to adjust, and holes in doors where uppers’ legs go in scratch easily.

One touch top and half doors: rear window not removable or foldable. Door uppers made of soft top cloth don’t match a hard top.

Problem: I want a Wrangler that can fit more people (and cargo) yet be just as capable.

Translation: Removable third row seat that can seat at least two adults with decent leg room and head room. Departure angle still needs to be reasonable, not as bad as the Gladiators.

The main thing Jeep is lacking is acceptable dealer service departments. And that has been going on as long as I've owned Jeeps (25 years). The more people try to make the Wrangler more luxurious, the less "Jeep" it is, i.e. 3rd row seats, etc. The JL & JLU are already too big, imo. There is no need to make them bigger.

My turn. ;)

Problem: Some of us owners have long memories. We remain concerned about the ever-expanding size, weight, complexity and price of each new generation of Wrangler. This is a vehicle that has been selling like gangbusters since the days of leaf spring suspension and optional-only hard tops and full doors. It needn't incorporate every feature that finds its way into other vehicles in the same or similar classes simply for the sake of chasing trends; it's this sort of unthinking commodification that does nothing for the model's legacy or, ultimately, it's continued superiority in real off-road conditions.

Translation: Those who want power ashtrays, or leather-lined gloveboxes, or a third row seat shoehorned in the back are already spoiled for choice as it concerns virtually all minivans and SUVs on the market. Let them point their noses in that direction if such baubles are compulsory. The Wrangler has more need of a diet than it does additional calories.

  1. A Jeep that drives straight for more than 10 feet. The steering went from bad to worse from JK to JL
  2. Customer service not inspired by thugs. I have to drive 30 miles to get my Jeep serviced because the local dealer, 1.5 miles from home, is run by Al Bundy and Archie Bunker
  3. Auto up/down windows. C’mon Jeep, this is 2022

1. Better oil change procedures. Maybe even some electronic verificiation. I'd like to be able to verify that my last oil change was done correctly. Particularly in terms of volume. A nice oil volume or level (not pressure) sensor would make me happy. We tell the dealer to drain the oil (which they can't do to completion) and then to add five additional quarts. Seems like a recipe for regular overfills? I'm not a subject matter expert on this, so please take under advisement if this angers anyone.

2. AUX switch overhaul. More complex rules for how/when they enable. And disable! The ability to use a "timeout" so if a switch is left running for 30 minutes after the vehicle has been shut down, it'll shut itself off automatically. Those kinds of things. Smarter functions.

I agree with this statement. Hence I feel improve overall quality and customer service is where they need to focus, not moving the Wrangler upmarket… Keep “improving“ and then it will go the way of the Defender, a disappointment.
