Anyone else so behind. Called jeep hotline today and Still in D1 status - Ordered 3/9.. Really thought I would get good news. They said premium soft top is slated for mid to late march. I thought that got cleared up!!
I ordered a hard top, but wanted to add a softop and as of today, my dealer said they still couldn't order them bc of the shortage.

Do you know who mopar sources their lift kit from? I had heard from someone that it was AEV, which is hardly a non reputable brand. But maybe I was misinformed.
Most companies get their springs from a single manufacturer in the US. The difference between them is the wind, size, shape and rate. AEV may provide the Mopar springs but I wouldn't touch them with a 10 ft pole. AEV makes some decent JK stuff but clearly, in Jeeps rush to get their MOPAR catalog to market, they didn't get this lift kit right.

Plenty of reputable companies make kits that will outperform the MOPAR at a lower price point.

No truer words have ever been spoken! It's starting to feel like Jeep rushed a lot of things with the JL.

I picked up my Sting-Gray today! I know I don't have pictures or video and I suck. I will try and fix that this weekend.

Quick mini-review. First of all there is no point in looking at pictures of this color because apparently it can't be photographed. It looks so much better in person. I have a Sport S and nothing about it feels like a base vehicle. I absolutely love the interior and I have barely scratched the surface on the technology. It was so much fun to drive a manual again after 15 years of automatics. The first gear is a little tricky but I got used to it pretty quick. I am still a little rusty but so glad I got the manual.

Some reviewers have said the new Wrangler drives almost like an SUV. It does drive 100 times better than my old YJ. But I just can't agree it feels like an SUV. It still feels like a Jeep to me. Which is not a bad thing. I doubt the 33 inch tires I am putting on it will help there.

I have the premium soft top and with the top up I was impressed by how quiet it is. Frankly it is more quiet than most of the cars I have owned including our 2005 Jeep Liberty.

Once we got home we dropped the top and went for a long drive. The top came down so easily. And it was great with the top down. The only problem - and I think there is a thread on it - is that at about 50 the top starts bouncing and over 60 it is a little unnerving. I mean I know there is nowhere for it to go but it does make you anxious. I used the locks on the rails but frankly they didn't seem to do anything. Also it was a lot harder to put the windows back on than it looked in the videos. It was dark and I think it will get easier but first time it took a lot longer to get them on than take them off.

I did manage to get the bumper extensions off. I'm not very handy so it took a lot longer than the guys on the videos. But they came off pretty easily and it looks a lot better.

My family got a real kick out of the Jeep waves. I think we got about 5 on our drive.

I think that's about it!
Awesome and congratulations! I miss driving a stick shift...so much fun!!

It’s ETA was 5/8-5/12 before Alorton Hell (that continues to grow bigger every day). Now it’s TBD. I called Jeep Cares yesterday and she said to call back if there’s no movement at the end of the week and she will look into escalating the case.
jeep care is sooo funny when they say they will "escalate" the case.... its been 2 months... its escalated

Was anyone able to order the color match hard top as part of the Dual Top Group? On Jeep.com it appears you can with a $1,200 upgrade charge but I'm hearing from some folks you can only get the black hard top if you do Dual Top Group?
Yes I ordered dual top with color matching hardtop and it was delivered to the dealer yesterday and I’m picking her up tomorrow!

So now that my SG Sahara has been delivered (won’t pick up until tomorrow), I wanted to share my ordering experience and hopefully my info will help some of you who are left in the dark on your order status.

Ordered from Superior Jeep in Conway, AR on 3/26 (first day SG color matched top became available). It’s fully loaded minus leather and got it for 6.25% below invoice. After 3 weeks without a VIN I got tired of waiting in the dark on when it would get built, especially with rumors of soft top shortages and SG color top issues. I decided to reach out to the big dogs at FCA to see if anyone would reply back with a status update. I got online and found this page https://www.fcagroup.com/en-US/group/governance/management/Pages/default.aspx and emailed every executive (first name.last [email protected]) that had anything to do with Jeep, parts, service etc. I drafted a polite email explaining how excited I was for my order and I’m left in the dark on status etc. I even politely complained that price went up $750 and my $500 cash back coupon expired since I had to wait for SG to become available and then wait an additional month for matching top availability. (I sent emails on Monday 4/16)

Within 15 minutes I received a call from an executive that explained his boss sent him my email and tasked him with expediting my order. Not only that, but he would also send my dealer a code to give me $500 off my purchase to help make up for the price increase while I had to wait. He also emailed me every morning with a status update. The very next day I got a VIN. By Friday she was built with matching top and went to have premium soft top loaded in the back. Monday it was still in this same status so I asked if the soft top shortage was holding it up that they ship without it and send to me later. He said he worked with his contacts and they were getting me one the next day. It then went to shipping and he worked with logistics to get it loaded directly on a truck and avoid rail to get it delivered ASAP and as stated previously, she was delivered yesterday. That’s no VIN to delivered in 2.5 weeks with restricted items like color matched top, premium soft top and LEDs.

It pays to shake the upper branches to get answers and if you’re polite about it, they usually make things happen. Hope this info helps. All I ask is that you don’t reference my name or specifics of my experience or build when you reach out...I don’t want my contacts to find out that I spread the news if they get bombarded. I’m holding onto their info and want to keep a good relationship in case I have issues down the road with my Jeep. I’ll post photos when I pick her up tomorrow!

I posted a few photos yesterday from my dealer. I’ll post more when I pick her up.
I didn't realize that one was yours! I love the pic of it sitting on top of the delivery truck. King of the Hill!
