Yes, E is a 10-ply tire. This does mean that it has a higher load capacity on the tire.

the LT285/70R17C is indicated as a 33" tire. what tire would be equivalent to a 35" tire?

I have the Overall Diameter on this tire of 32.80 inches.

I do not see a tire size Equivalent to a 35" the higher the Overall Diameter with the same rim width, it does get bigger.

It looks like they added a more aggressive KO2 type sidewall/ shoulder to the KM2. Id bet the sidewall strength has been improved to match too.


To be honest....I got a little excited over that top. Before I zoomed in it looked like a old Land Rover Discovery type domed/ windowed top......but no...

My first question would be: Will these suck like the KM2? If so, I'll pass.

If the answer is no, then my next question will be how heavy are they in a 33" and 35" size?

The KM2 is expensive, loud as h*** on the road, wears like crap, runs small for its sizing, and has a reputation of being terrible in the mud. Will be nice to see actual reviews on these later this year.

I just got on BFGoodrich chat to ask about the Mud Terrain KM3. Both 285/70R17 and 315/70R17 will be available.

That puts them on my list. I had the 35/12.5-17 Mud Terrain KM2 on my LJ and they were great. Road noise was a lot less than what I expected. Great in mud, deep snow but not so much roads with snow and ice, and freaking awesome in Moab. Though that may be due to the hero rocks there.

Just get a 37" and your dream will come true. BFG tires have always been a good inch shorter than their rated size.

They’re more than an inch shorter. Like most tire manufacturers. They measure tire height differently than we do.
