Ok, I tried to get the wire plugs undone to install the Taser, but failed again. Those things don't want to come out. I'll try again tomorrow....But, no worries! The Factor 55 Splicer arrived from Extreme Terrain!

So, I undid the synthetic rope and took the this off the XRC9500 winch...

Then, I used this....the Fast FID, to attach the Splicer to the synthetic winch rope...

Then, when looped in and spliced, I wound the winch rope tight and tah-dah! A closed-loop thimble for safe winching! (It looks like a tongue, so maybe a new name is in order for the JLUR? Gene! As in Gene Simmons! Well, maybe the tongue isn't big enough. :cwl:

Plastic. 40 cents each! I'm not sure why, but those holes bugged the shit out of me. I feel so much better now that they are plugged. Weird.
Didn't want to insert the bolts that originally came on the bumper? Just add a nut to each one and looks just like it did before you added the winch.

Nah, that'd be too much screwing around. :giggle:

I had to remove the plastidip and reapply it as I had ripped it too much. Started raining so I couldn’t finish the other side. You can definitely just do a few letters. Just make sure you leave enough overspray to peel.

This looks awesome. I have a Firecracker Sahara incoming as well, and plan to plastidip not only the emblems like you did, but also the Silver front grille inserts and front bumper trim.

So your method is tape 2” outside the Sahara and Jeep emblems, no tape in between them, then 3-4 coats spaced a minute apart, then peel after, using toothpicks around tiny spaced areas around letters? I am concerned with the pointy end of the toothpick scratching paint. Would a cotton swab work too? Or too thick?

Also installed the Mopar reinforcement plate and RC relocation bracket. I cut a hole in the Pro Comp center cap for the camera to poke through.

I didn’t have much success with the cotton swab... it’s just too soft to peel the plastidip. I did put some tape between the Sahara and Jeep. I spaced the coatings to probably be more around 5 minutes between. You want to make sure it’s dry before you reapply. The toothpick didn’t appear to scratch anything and I was going to town.

^ awesome.

I assume the pic above is just the first application? You’re going to be more liberal than that for the first coat right?

Please post in progress and post after pics :)

Yes. Just showing this picture to show the tape better. Be careful though start off with light sprays or else it will start to drip.

Just remember to leave enough overspray to start the peel off. Also needs to be thick enough or else it won’t peel... so about 3-5 coats. Honestly I was drinking and it may have been more as I was spraying coats in between doing other things.

It has the 2.5" Rough Country kit. It doesn't look nearly as high as a Rubicon with the taller fenders and slightly taller springs.

With the 2.5" kit it does not rub on road, but i have yet to "flex" it out to see if it rubs at full articulation.

This again shows you can get a great look without buying a Rubi. Of course your Rubi is pretty badass.

I always thought those Factor55's look like a pacifier, so you can call it your "Baby".
