So I'm shopping for a JL and visited every dealership in the Greater LA area and emailed everyone and their mom to all nearby states and here's where I'm at:

Never buy a new car in LA or even CA. Too many aholes offering to match deals and you're greeted by surprisees like ridiculous add-ons or heavy paperwork fees.

The best I've gotten is 5% below invoice from Jim Marsh JEEP in Las Vegas and I'm waiting on Dillon Jeep in Idaho.

Anyone with a better option, please let me know!

Thank you so much for all your tips!!

What were your thoughts on Huntington Beach? They have always taken good care of me.

Reminds of the bait and switch tactics here in Maryland. Online prices show Wranglers at this one dealer at about 5% below invoice. Call to verify and they say yeah come on in for a test drive. Sit down to finalize numbers and deal, then bam! The say the price you saw included various rebates you may or may not be eligible for plus they add in a freight charge which is separate from the standard destination charge on the sticker AND add in doc and processing fees. By the time all is said and done the price is at MSRP again. Walked and ordered from another dealer the next day.

With the way things are in California, I'm thinking about going to Idaho. 8-9 hour drive one way, doable in a weekend. Just unsure about the title and tax process

Watching this one. You’d think Orange Coubty dealers were selling limited production

I’m thinking of this or Vegas, either way it’s an easy process. Just need to bring the title or temporary registration to AAA along with a check for the 8.25% sales tax and DMV fees.... turns out to be about 10% when it’s said and done.

I think the demand for Jeeps in our area keeps the local dealers greedy, along with their presumable exorbinant overhead. I’m going to check out how the Costco program compares too.

Let me know about Costco! I've heard good things but not keeping my hopes high for a good deal on JL through them.

Thanks for letting me know about TTT process. Appreciate it.

I tried Costco and the website said no dealership can offer their pricing for that car in my area maybe I should work with another zipcode

Use this quote as leverage. If they tell you that it's far and it's a month long trip or whatever, just ignore them and don't cave in to the pressure. This is just a one way flight to Boise and one day drive.

Dennis Dillon is a smokin deal. It is roughly 7.5% below invoice which is the lowest I’ve seen on this forum. I’m wondering if it includes any other rebates like affiliate trad lightly or military. If not, then can those be added. I know the military can, but some dealers do t do the affiliate program. If you can add those two that you’d be at $42,354 which is almost 10% below invoice!!!

$46,951 - invoice by my calculation
$43,315 - negotiated price per order sheet...military rebate and affiliate discount unknown.

Way ahead of you! I sent the guy an email this morning if I can add Tread Lightly. I'll reply here when I get an answer.

Awesome. I may order a 2-door Sport S if I can close to 10% off. That could be a build Jeep for me or even my son’s college grad present.

At $35-$37k invoice moderately equipped that could mean $31-$34k or the unicorn being $28.7k invoice could be $26k!
Unicorn being a 2-door sport zero options.

However i do think the margins on the lower trims are smaller so I doubt I could get 10% off those models.

Yeah, he’s doing great. Really good kid...owe it all to his mom. Military had me away for lots of things. We’ll see.
