Why doesnt anyone try and take photos of the rear interior? I'm curious to see the rear seats and cargo areas, as the obviously have the camo still on that section for a reason.

This is a pic from the earlier diesel spied thread. The DEF tank and exhaust seem to be the same.

Go back to that same thread and look at the exhaust tip
That was a test tip I'm pretty sure. Looked like some sort of data acquisition unit.

My point is, that tank forward of the rear axle is much more likely to be DEF tank than fuel. The filler is on the opposite (driver) side and aft of the axle, so the regular fuel tank is quite likely where it's always been, behind the rear axle.

It really doesn't matter, since we've established that the shifter is for the automatic. And we know they're working on the 3.0 diesel.

I got all cRaZy since I really want diesel with a manual. I fully admit with this JL & JT I'm like a kid in a candy store. ;o)

Upon closer observation, I spotted the same red interior stitching (no matter the paint color) that the other Jeeps suffer from. They definitely FCA’d the Wrangler.

How are the regens in the ecodiesel? I'm pretty familiar how the current Cummins emissions systems are set up, but not familiar with what the Jeep/Ram ecodiesel.

I think it's an Automatic. In the last pic look at the letters to the left of the shifter.
Nah, look closely and think of the letter arrangement, that’s the lettering for the 2H-4H-N-4L of the transfer case shifter which is why it’s on the side of the shifter at the very top, in line with the TC shifter path, but doesn’t even cover half of the Transmission shifter path.

That definitely looks like the manual transmission, not only because of the leather boot, but also the lack of a push-button like on most stick imolementations of the ZF8 shifter.

It is however kind of a short shifter (for either MT or AT) and means a hand position that doesn’t allow for the same resting of the arm on the centre console while keeping a hand on the shifter for feedback.

The one item I see that angers me is that they are still re-using the same damn door locks in the same stoopid ‘hit it with my knee when driving on the dead-pedal or foot on floor’ spot as the current JK.
I’ve unlocked the door about 50+ times a year on my JKUs because of that stoopid thing !!

I was hoping that would get updated to less easily brushed up against design, or moved to another location, but earlier JL interior shots had it blocked by the steering wheel, like the other interior shot in this thread.

Too short to be a manual shifter, though the Tremec has a short one (looks just like this), they're in muscle cars where the position makes sense. Plus, don't think that's a shift pattern on top, and it has a little button on the side (likely to defeat OD).

Unless... This is an early mule and the longer shift lever was unavailable. ooh...
