2018 JL Wrangler Tests Towing Capacity

The all-new 2018 Jeep Wrangler JL was just spied tow testing a 5×8 Uhaul Cargo Trailer on Arizona State Route 68 performing what has become known as the Davis Dam Test.

The test is part of the SAE J2807 tow rating standard and required of all vehicles which intend to use this standard.

Seen is some visible rear squat as the 2-door JL Wrangler tows the UHaul Cargo Trailer. Depending on what it’s carrying, the JL could be towing up to 1,800 pounds which is the maximum load of the trailer according to the Uhaul website.
