Maybe the 2 door guys will be able to tow at least something now. There are also photos of a JT tow testing, but this is JL Wrangler forums after all ;)

The 5×8 Cargo Trailer can handle a maximum load of 1,800 pounds according to Uhaul’s website.

Does that look like 5,000 lbs to you? :P
Maybe that's the point of the U Haul trailer.. you don't know what's inside. Put more clearly, we don't know the weight. Besides, they're obviously trying to refine towing capabilities at least a little bit after all the complaints especially with the 2 door.

Is that an angled cut on the (uncovered!) roof panels, kind of like the way they cut a panini sandwich? Curious...

I'm not sure if it's because the trailer is pulling the Jeep back, but the whole vehicle is raked rearwards (rather than forward like you see on the JK). This is definitely making it seem like the windshield has more rake than it does.

Tried to level out the rake in the picture...

They always have but only if you have a hard top. I tried to rent one years ago with my soft top TJ and they said no way. Must have a hard top.

it would be interesting to know what the total and tongue weight of that trailer is. First thing i noticed was how much the Jeep is squatting in the rear.

There's too much tongue weight on the JL hitch. That would make for squirrelly handling at highway speed.
Maybe this is an "Off Label" ( unsanctioned) use of the Test Mule ? Test driver's use ?
Unless they have a sliding weight in the trailer to see what payload, tongue weight balance is.
As has been pointed out before, the wheelbase and suspension of the JK 2dr limited the towing capacities.
The JL 2 dr, slightly longer, "improved" suspension, might have a slightly higher tow rating

How do the drivers get into these test vehicles with the new handles covered up?

That rake on the windshield is stunning (even leveled out)
