I did the same thing, started mowing lawns and shoveling snow and doing all kinds of odd jobs when I was 10 and was able to buy my first car when I was 16. But, it wasn’t a Jeep 4XE, it was a new 1959 VW Bug, a little over $1300 in price. I’m sure the prices for doing this are quite a bit different than when I started but no matter what It was a lot of work. The only help I had was from my grandfather, he paid the insurance for the first year. I wish I had the VW today, it was a blast.

Well, at what the gardeners around here charge to mow, blow, and go, about 135 days at 8 yards per day.
Great kid, he should be congratulated 👍
No kidding. Kid hustles enough is not an unreasonable possibility after four summers.

This kid washed trucks on weekends, and worked in a fish plant summers, manning the pumps, grease pit, tune up’s, etc at his fathers garage to save for my first car. Fortunately, I was allowed to drive Dad’s 3A until I did.

My kinda first job was pumping gas for a nickel a car in my dads gas station when I was about 13, 14.
We had to check the oil, check tire pressure and wash the windows.
I did more goofing off then real work.
I did my first valve job on a Mustang 170cid with help from the mechanics at 16.
My first car was a $300 1963 ford falcon and at 17 totaled it. And then a bright red 64 Falcon.
Growing up with all the crap I was doing I never thought I would see the age of 40 and now I am 68.
Time fly's when you are having fun.
Start young and never stop.
