Cargo area rattle...FIX. UPDATE with 2nd rattle.

Thought I would post how I fixed my cargo rattle in case someone else has the same problem.

It was mainly over bumps and coming from the driver side. I removed the rear drivers side cargo panel and found this black module to be the problem.

They used plastic inserts to secure it and they loosen up over time. I tapped for two 8mm bolts into the frame and put a little lock tite on it.

Edit: Had another loud squeak start about a week after I fixed this one, I was like wtf. It was also coming from the rear drivers side. I found the protective tape had come off the tailgate bracket here....

I had some spare PPF so I cut off a small piece to replace what was there. All quiet now!

Thanks !! I have something going on and thought it was the aftermarket tail lights and that is not the issue. I will have to check this out. Appreciate it.

My rattle was the door, but I will keep this in mind when searching for a noise.

Took a trip out to Silverton CO in August and developed a rattle when going over larger bumps. I’ll have to check this out! Thanks for the info!

I have the same rattle in the door towards the top. Would love to find the cause.

We drove out to Moab on I70 across CO this past summer - CO has gosh awful highways. We needed an alignment after the trip.

Wondering if this is the noise that just appeared. Sounds like it is coming from the front passenger but, I am unsure.

I've got a squeak too that's not the tailgate. I know it's fairly common as I've heard it in other youtuber videos as they were driving..

Do you have a sound clip of the squeak? I'd love to find it and fix it.

Do you have any fixes for a rattling tailgate? Only happens on washboards when Wheeling.

No sound. It was a pretty loud rattle of plastic against metal. Definitely not a squeak.
