Pinnacles Wildflowers

Thought I should do a couple dry runs after the latest 4xe recall so yesterday we headed down the Airline Highway to see the wildflowers at Pinnacles National Park.
It’s nice when the California hills are green, and plenty of flowers, too.

Used to live out there in King City. Drove by often but never had the opportunity to explore. Glad you had fun.

Larry, thanks for posting these beautiful pix. We drove by there a month ago, and considered going up there, but my wife is still on restricted movement after her back surgery. She passes along her thanks to you as well.

Pinnacles, either side, really needs a 4-5 mile hike. I’m trying to figure out an off-road ride on the east side of Rt 25 (the Airline Highway) in the San Benito mountains if I can figure out the BLM permits. We rode up to New Idria last year, paved if you don’t mind potholes, and some of the hillsides were covered with yellow goldfields. Idria was one of my options yesterday instead of Pinnacles.

We are going to the Carrizo Plain area this Sunday. Hoping the reports of an early bloom are accurate.

I drive down from the east bay occasionally to hike Pinnacles.. we bring flashlights and wear shoes we can get wet, and hike the cave.

Please post some pics. We went through there last fall.

I’ve ordered a few leafy additions through indoor plant delivery and it made my life a lot easier, especially with their care guides that stop me from accidentally over-loving the plants. The range is huge, so it’s been fun picking things that actually fit my space instead of grabbing whatever the local shop has. Free delivery over £50 is a nice cherry on top.
