Wife and I took our Jeeps to Jeep Branson last week and had a great time! We got in town Tuesday and had time to hang out at the landing and grab some dinner.
Wednesday we went to Texplex for their guided offroad adventure. I wanted to do the easy trails as my wife had never driven offroad before AND the harder choice said lockers which mine doesn't have. For the most part totally fine but there were two hills we had to winch mine up. The first I tried a couple times but kept digging in towards the top. The second was even worse of a hill and I had our youngest with me and she was terrified so I radiod up and we just winched it the whole way up to keep her from a complete meltdown. We ended up being out for nearly 4 hours. It was a ton of fun, but if anyone else tries in the future they say 33s but 35s is really what you'd want. On 33s there was a spot where I smacked the low part of the diff and it was pretty unavoidable. Also, tore up every single rim where the rash ring is. Unfortunately mine arent removable but oh well theyre beauty marks lol. My wife's on 35s had one scratch but not bad. You for sure will tear up 33s out there. I kind of wish we had been warned on that as I may have opted against it. I dont really regret it, but just wish we had known more about that trail especially taking the kids too. They are trying to get it added to the badge of honor trails and honestly its probably worthy of it. After that we went to the ferris wheel party and had a blast down there.
My wife was an absolute BEAST though driving the trail. Had no issues and bossed the whole thing first try. She was smiling ear to ear! I've never seen her smile so big and we got married lol. She at one point was like I think I've got a new addiction!
Thursday was pretty chill. We cleaned the jeeps up and got the doors off and top off of mine. Then in the evening we did the poker run. It kind of felt like a waste as we didnt get to stop in many places, but it was still fun cruising around.
Friday we spent several hours at the convention. There were a ton of vendors and it was cool to get to check them all out. After that we got ready for the parade. Being in the parade was cool, but we for sure didn't bring enough ducks. We had bought 400 off Amazon but ran out about half way through. After the parade we checked out the sound competition. There were some insane builds!
Saturday we went to the show and shine. There weren't a ton of entrants probably because it was incredibly hot! Still we saw some really cool jeeps.
Outside of that we did a ton of mini golf with the kids. We also stayed a few days after and did silver dollar city and top of the rock. We checked out the stampede, fritz adventure park, wonderworks, did shopping, ate at several different ice cream spots, and various other fun activities.
During the event we got a few ideas on things we would like to do, and my wife is now fully on board with me doing an axle swap issue is just finding axles. Also, im going to look to build my own foldable hard top hoist to travel with. We took it off and put it on by hand every single day so we could get the jeeps back in the garage where we were staying. That is just asking for trouble lol.
The bad: as mentioned in another post of mine on day 1 I dang near broke my ankle and dropped a freedom panel in the process so the trip got that much more expensive. Also, less than an hour from home and my wife got hit with a bouncing rock on the highway and it put a big crack in the "gorilla glass". I say that because it did nothing. She scheduled an appointment to get pics and submit for the warranty but the dealer didnt seem too sure it'd get covered. @JeepCares if you want to help us out that would be great! It'd sure make my ankle hurt less lol.
