Saw this guy on my way home from work today. Had the angry grille too. Started to follow him just so I could get a picture of that. Wishing I would have now!

I've been noticing stuff like this recently, mostly on Chevy Pickups.

That styles been around in Hawaii since the early 90’s
Massive lift, 16x20’s and 35x15.50’s stretches to all hell. Almost every Toyota here is built that way

You know I didn't even notice the Hawaii plates when I did a google search on this. lol

Well it seems like that trend has finally reached here in NC, not that I'm a big fan of it. Seems like it would easily lose the bead if you try to wheel with that.

True that style is form over function. To each his own, gimme a set of 17x9’s and 37’s and I’m happy. I live here so I’ve been through that “phase” and I understand the value of proportions after extensive wheel damage and a popped bead or two. Live and learn eh?? Lol

How is the off roading there? I know there's some beautiful mountains but they look pretty steep. At least the ones on Oahu are.

I’m on Kauai... there’s BUNCH of places to go exploring here!
Long sand beaches, Light family wheeling, and even Hard technical trails that are often used for testing out your driving skills.
We need to upgrade our JLU in order to attack the hard stuff, But we’re still happy with the adventures we can go on stock!

Nice! Looks like a perfect place for a Jeep all right. I was in Kaneohe for a week to teach a class, so I didn't even really get a chance to explore around.

May be just a fad now, but back in the day, this looks like a typical setup for dune running here on the West Coast. Not a lot of tire choices back then, and rims were often stock steel that were widened by cutting in half and welding in a tubular section.

With low pressure, made for a great sand setup, but horrible for anything else...
