there are full tank of fluid, guess it is not covered by the 5 year warranty, so I am on my own now.
I read it is either sensor bad or sensor get dirty, how hard is it to pull out and replace? how to clean it if I assume it is just dirty and how can flush it through?

We had this problem with my wife's Gran and it turns out that FCA's wiper washer sensor is old tech and it gets gunked up easily with RainX or other types of purple washer fluid. Start feeding blue through and it should eventually clear up.

I have a Tech friend that told me when he is faced with this issue.... he will try this first.... he siphons all the fluid out of the windshield washer reservoir and then pours in a bottle of rubbing alcohol. He then runs the windshield washer pump until the sensor / filter is cleaned up a bit and hopefully all is back to normal. Then he fills the reservoir with elcheapo blue wiper fluid (it too has alcohol in it) and runs some of the that fluid through to assure all the rubbing alcohol is evacuated from the system.

I have never tried this approach... I'm just passing info on that I was told..

Remember alcohol removes automotive car wax so you will want to rinse well and rewax the painted areas that get dowsed with alchol..

To get to the underside of the windshield washer reservoir on a JL/JT to access things is a bit of a chore..

HINT: Easiest way to get access, is to do a partial fender liner peel on the frt. driver's side and you will then have full /easy access to the under side of the washer fluid reservoir filter/sensor.

By the way, stop using Rainex. Also, do not mix brands of wiper fluids or mix Rainex with other washer fluids..
