Hello from a rainy UK!

Have any of you fitted the Warn (or similar) power interrupt relay kit for isolating a Winch?

I'm particularly interested in where you positioned the relay, as space in the RHD is limited! I have seen where some have fitted a bracket in the LHD models but unless I'm missing the obvious, cannot for the life of me see where one will fit?!

Cheers

I started a project to put together such a kit. I took the winch solenoid out of the control box and will connect it to the Blue Sea Systems ML-RBS 7700.

I went with the Blue Sea Systems device because it has a continuous rating of 500A (700A for 5 mins; 1450A for 30 secs), has a bi-stable magnetic latch, and has a manual override switch should your in-cabin switch fail.

The device comes with an SPDT switch, but I have an SPOD Bantam X system already installed and will connect directly to it so I can isolate/connect the winch using my touchscreen on the A pillar.

In terms of mounting, I bought an RHD Air Compressor Bracket from a local Aussie company called TLR Products. It normally is for the ARB twin compressor and installs next the the break boost in the RHD engine bay. I just had to drill a few extra holes to mount the Blue Sea Systems device and the winch solenoid.

I've been a bit busy lately and haven't had time to finish this project yet, so can't really let you know yet how this setup worked out.

Hello Kieseki,

Many thanks for the reply!

I think the TLR compressor mounting bracket is defo the way to go. I never gave this a thought and seeing where it mounts, I reckon it should do the trick! I hope you find some time to finish off your project - I'd be interested to hear how it performs.

Cheers again for the idea!
