I’m looking for a a winch plate that doesn’t push the bumper out. I know Rusty’s says theirs doesn't push it out but I haven’t seen one in person yet. Anyone have a Rusty’s plate they can post up some top and side view pics, or any other brand that doesn’t push the bumper out for that matter. Thanks in advance. I’m most likely gonna get the Evo 10s or maybe even the Smittybilt X20 to save some coin.

The ones that push the bumper out only push it out the thickness of the plate because it puts parts of it between the frame horns and bumper. My Warn plate was only 1/4", but enough to need to elongate the lower/rear holes on the skid plate.

I got the Smittybilt X2O 10K Comp a d have no regrets.

MY*JLUR has the factory steel bumper. I installed a warn 10S with the Maximus3 winch plate and the Factor55 fairlead.

The original factory bumper bolts and nuts where used, with a spacer of approx 1/8" used.

Here are a few pictures.

No modifications where needed to the jeep or the skid plates for the winch plate. The tow recovery hooks I installed required a cut in the bumper and skid plate in order to fit around the tow hooks.

Also there was a weld on the jeep that was a bit larger on the driver side that prevented the winch plate from squaring up properly in the corner closest to the grill. Rather than mess with weld, I used a grinder on the winch plate to remove enough material for it to fit properly.

There was no need to elongate bolts for the skid plate like the warn kit requires.

Thanks for the feedback, I’m fully aware of that and don’t mind reaming out some holes in the skid plate, I just don’t like how it looks being pushed out even a 1/4”.

That’s good to hear, who made those tow hooks and how did you mount those two side bolts? I don’t see a way to get a nut behind there so what did they thread into?

Here is another view of the factory bumper with the Maximus3 winch plate and warn 10s. I also added the filler plates from Maximus3.

That looks really good with the filler plate. How much did actually push the bumper out again?

I used Rusty's and it worked just fine. No issues with the bumper being pushed out at all.

The top bolts required a 1/8" spacer bracket to accommodate the extra space the plate took up.

There is no way you would notice, and the skid plate used the original bolt holes with no modifications.

An 1/8” is really nothing and if the holes lined up means it didn’t push out hardly at all. Also, I don’t know of another company that makes a filler plate either so that narrows it down, Thanks for the heads up!

I installed the Warn plate and everything lined up despite the 1/4" spacers. It was very well built.

I endorse the Maximus 3 winch mounting plate and filler plates, as well! Perfect fit and flawless finish! Super fast shipping also. Great products!

Just learning about winch plates. I’ve picked up on they need to be strong enough for the application and then also about fitment concerns.

I’m sure most are not an issue in strength. I intend on getting the Rubicon steel bumper, a Warn 10S, and would definitely be interested in not having to or minimizing grinding and cutting to fit. I’d also like to be able to use D rings at the bottom like it seems some have. I assume they are added. This Maximus 3 seems like a good choice. Any others? Anything else winch plate-wise to consider? Thanks
