Installed the Rock Hard winch plate for stock plastic bumpers along with Badlands Apex winch. Liked the looks of the stock bumper best and wanted to keep it.

I, too, have the Badlands Apex 12K winch. I installed the winch plate from Maximus-3. Works great!

I'm running the Grimm plate. The quality is top notch and installation is simple.

did you do any of the grinding of the frame horns like they show in their install video on 4x4northridge grimm plate? i like the install and that is one piece. i dont want to do any grinding though. Badlands 12K winch. thanks

Nope. It fit perfectly right out of the box.

I like the look of the winch plate over the stock bumper, but have you noticed any issue with the air flow since the winch mount is up so high?

No issues at all. Been on a number of easy to moderate trails and engine temp has stayed constant. Really never thought I would want or need a winch because I am a fan of taking the path of least resistance and enjoying the views. But I discovered recently how easily you can get in to trouble even on a fairly easy trail. I had a life long friend with me that has some pretty severe health issues and he wanted to go on a ride. I quickly ran in to a fairly long pretty steep downhill slide of slick red clay on a trail I haven't been on before and almost ended up in a deep rut next to a number of large rocks and trees. Decided to make the purchase if nothing else, for the piece of mind for the next time I take my buddy out for a ride.
