Pardon my ignorance.... the LCA's are like 10 inches away from the wheels?

The trailing inside edge of the front tires on my OEM wheels rub the front lower control arms of my lift kit when the steering is turned to full lock. If you turn the wheel to the drivers side as far as it will go, the inside rear of the front drivers side tire will rub on the front drivers side lower control arm. Turn hard passenger and the passenger side tire will rub.

Wheel spacers, a different offset wheels, or shimming the steering stop bolt with washers to reduce the turning radius are possible solutions.

I’ve found the folks from @Northridge4x4 to be very knowledgeable and helpful if you call.

the other place that oem wheels can cause issues is the rear upper swaybar links and the the lower rear control arms under max flex. the clearance between the tire and the upper rear swaybar link is close.....people often worry about the front but often it is the rear that gives you issues....

How much of a spacer do I need?

Does the LCA cause issues because it's longer/droopier with the lift?

Sorry for the new guy questions. I had a pretty good kit on my JK and there were no fitment issues, just trying to learn and understand.

Maybe it would be best to call the lift kit manufacturer and let them know your wheel backspacing and see what they tell you. They should know the specifics of their own lift kit and where there may be interference. Sorry I know that’s not super helpful

This is the best advice OP can get for this issue.

I believe a large part of this is because of the installing taller and wider tires using the stock rims. The stock rims with the stock size tires will probably fit fine, but when you start adding something like a 35x12.50 tire that what causes the rubbing or interference.

That makes a whole lot more sense. Unless the LCA's were shaped differently I don't see how they'd interfere with the stock rubi tire size.

I see you are installing a Rock Krawler kit. I have one on myself. The RK lower control arms are laterally straight (not just RK - many others are also). Your factory LCAs are bent inward towards the center of the Jeep; this gives more tire clearance at full steering lock. Another issue is that it looks like you have the more narrow non-rubicon axels.

Rock Krawler lists very specific wheel offsets for their kits. These are NOT suggestions - rather absolute requirements.

Go to their website, if you haven’t already; and lookup your specific lift kit & for your application. In the product description, you’ll find the wheel requirements. You’ll definitely need new wheels and/or spacers (which are not recommended).

That's exactly the issue on some lifts. Stock front LCAs kink inward, some aftermarket do not.

That's my old jeep - I was saying I didn't have any fitment problems with it and it is my only point of reference.

Looks like the JKS LCA's are 5/16th's longer than OEM.

I've already installed the 4xe LCA's that are a half inch longer than original OEM, so I probably don't need or want to swap for the JKS control arms anyway.
