Exactly this: Just got the answer from the shop, they bended it to get it in. Not sure what to think about that, but at least I know why it's bent now.

According to the JKS website, they are supposed to cut the bracket off and a new mount is provided. I would print the instructions and go back to the shop to have them fix it.

Thank you for this info! The cutting seems to be for the non-Rubicon models that install the "Quicker Disconnect" feature. Since mine is a Rubicon with the electric sway bar disconnect, they should have installed it as stated in the manual.

I would still have them re-install it properly. That just isn't good quality work. Even if that is the way it should be installed, it should have been straightened out. Maybe reach out to JKS too and ask them directly.

I think it’s just water/dirt/mud, not oil.

Fortunately it‘s not, just dirt on underbody coating, to survive the winters and the road salt!
