Does anyone else have this problem? My car "whistles" at random steering positions. Some spots are louder than others, at about neutral its quiet to gone. Hard to say if it's doing it while I'm driving because I'm not moving the wheel all that much, but you can hear it when I start to move :)14-:18) and when I'm coming to a stop :)48). Took it into the dealer and they said they couldn't replicate it, but I can get it going every time. Tomorrow I'm going to just go in and show them.

I know this is a very old thread, but I seem to have the same issue on my 21 JLUR....did you ever get this resolved?

I dont know the jlur platform so good, as im new to it, but i bet its the electric power steering motor. Have it checked out, or not and wait to see if it settles out or completely quits. Wont harm anything except your forearms and biceps as it takes you more effort to turn the wheel.

Thank you. I continued my searching on the forum and found out it appears to be very common on the JL...and there is no fix as it's "normal" and not an issue. Lol

I have something similar on my 21 JLUR. It only happens when the car is moving at low speeds or stopped and the wheel is turned. I am taking it in for service in two weeks and I’ll ask but I am sure they will say it is normal. If it was normal though the 21 Willys (both delivered the same week) we have in the family would make the same noise…it doesn’t!

I have this same problem and it is driving me crazy. It did not do it before the steering pump TSB but started after. I took it to the dealer, we did replicate it. The service rep called a mechanic and they looked at it. At first they were surprised, like "it does this all the time?" and seemed like they had never seen or heard this before. They took the Jeep in. Then at the end of the day and called me and said that its normal and they will not fix it

Our '22 JL (i assume power steering/accessory pump) squeals like a pig but only after starting and then only after touching the steering wheel. I cannot hear it unless I'm standing near the hood. But it's an ugly ugly electric/hydraulic(not sure) whining like it's struggling. Functionally i notice nothing at fault with the steering but the sound is really annoying and ugly. Of all the videos I watch of others doing mods and wheeling I haven't noticed this sound on their Jeeps, which makes me wonder if it is problem?

Mine has a sound in the cab which is more akin to a vacuum suction that fluctuates as you turn the wheel. Hands off and it goes silent. Must be their new fangled steering contabulation retractive assist. I do have a wind leak somewhere on the passenger side. Can't put my finger on it. Maybe some blue tape around the windshield to isolate it... Fickle things these JL's are. Thank goodness for a decent stereo which mutes all this technological wizardry.
