l am looking to buy a 4 door Wrangler in the near future, and l need some clarification on versions.
My main question is pre or post 2012. It appears that the model was revised around 2012
Is the post 2012 the one to go for (how much improvement is there?)
l need the diesel version as under 20mpg won’t do it for me (l cover 13-14,000 miles per year)
Also most seem to be auto, but there’s the odd manual transmission.
It would be my first ever auto and l wonder does it suit the Wrangler? Well l say first, l did have a Porsche 928 S4 auto
a few years ago.
Is it possible to service the Jeep yourself? I currently drive a Defender 110 and that’s easy enough, before that l had a Ford van and that was OK as well.

You want a 2012 or newer. That was the first year with the 3.6 ngine and 5 sp auto. 80 hp more than 07-11. Improved interior too. There was never a diesel option until the coming 2019.

In the UK we get the 2.8 litre Diesel engine as well as the petrol version.

I’ll try to find a UK forum as it looks like l am asking in the wrong place.
But on a search this forum came up as the major player.
