Me too! The reviews are mixed. Some people love them, some people hate them!! It sure would be a nice addition though! It’s sort of lame that there are no map lights in the front. If you end up getting them, come back and tell me all about it!!?

"N" batteries? Why couldn't they just save the money and let me wire them to 12v. Ugh. I was so close to instantly buying these.

Completely agree!

It's a great product idea, but the fact it uses batteries makes it "lower quality" in my mind. I didn't purchase for the same reason.

If it was less expensive, I would consider going through the hassle of wiring a step-down to 4.5v (3 x N battery 1.5v)

I bet they'll sell a ton more of them to soccer moms who don't have to wire them up. I would prefer to wire them in, but wiring scares a lot of people.

I mean, it couldn't be that hard to bypass the battery compartment, could it? I know that picture is from a member here, we should see if we can find who and ask to get a better look at the offending object.

Bypass? Easy. Convert 12V to 4.5V? Much more challenging.

Actually, an adjustable step-down to 4.5v is not hard to find. My point in my post above is it's not worth the hassle.

You are not the average person. Most don't even know they're called an adjustable step down. Or a buck converter. ;-)
