In the footwell in front of the clutch pedal. I felt wires behind it & it appears to be connected to......something...

OBDII

No offense, you're not a car guy, huh? OBDII ports have been around since 1996.

Torque app is a great use of the OBDII port, although with Off Road Pages it probably isn't needed.

This is very interesting... I don't know OBD from ODB. I figured what @geospyder mentioned was strictly for the dealer to diagnose problems. Do the hand-held scanning devices come with universal connectors?

It’s the same port in every car. It’s also where the DEQ/smog test station plugs in.

Ok, so buying one may not make much sense considering there's a chance it may be locked out (thank you, @Capt-Zoom ).

When you mention a programmer, are you referring to the Tazer JL/JL Lite? I'm sure you've noticed by now, but things with wires confuse the hell out of me.

These guys are just kidding. According to Urban Dictionary, OBD only means two things:

1. OBD -- Oregon Butt Disease (OBD)

The related problem of having extra bodyweight during/after the wintertime in Oregon, gained from not wanting to exercise in the cold and rain.

i.e. "OBD was the second-leading cause of relationship failures in NW colleges in 2009."

2. OBD -- Acronym for Overgrown Bush Disorder.

Referring to anyone who has pubes that are overgrown.

i.e. "I think Joe may have OBD."

Plenty of devices out there and that is where you plug them in at. Torque just happens to be a very inexpensive and very good product.

You can use that port to program the factory computer, with a tuner or programmer such as the Tazer or others. The Tazer Lite doesn't use the OBDII port though. You can also plug in a bluetooth or wifi adapter so that you can use programs or apps wirelessly on your computer or phone (such as Torque). You can look up codes to see what is wrong with your vehicle, monitor performance, clear codes (check engine light), etc.

I have a Tazer Lite on the way.. .so, considering it doesn't use this port and looking at the instructions, there goes my next question. Very helpful information... thank you.
