For me it was a 1979 CJ-5 that my dad helped me restore. I was in my early 20’s and got offered what I thought was a lot of money (way more than I had in it) and sold it like a fool. It was gorgeous. My dad and I bonded more thru that process than any other activity. He ended up buying a CJ-7 and we repeated the process and restored his too.

There is no amount of money that could get that CJ from me. It’s due for another facelift (over 20 years since we did the first one). Pics will be posted when I start that process but it might be a year before I have time.

My first Jeep was a 2019 Grand Cherokee.

My first Jeep Jeep is the one I've got now.

A 1976 CJ-5 Renegade. 304, 3 Speed, 15years old and well abused before I got it. Was also my first car, I did "trade" it for mom's Beretta, when she upgraded, but the Jeep stayed in the family for another 10-15 years.

First, and likely last, is my current JLR.

I actually really like it.

Iowa boy here.
I've always had 4WD trucks cause between hunting, logging, wood cutting, and slogging through snow covered rural areas I've needed them.
When I quit burning wood I owned a couple Ramchargers and these were absolute tanks...
When I needed a more "sensible" commuter I bought a 2014 JKU Sahara and did a few things to make it more offroad worthy but nothing too serious.
Jeep Wrangler JL What was your first Jeep? JK

Loved it.
Reminded me of a midsized Ramcharger (That's high praise-trust me)
After I got into UTVs I needed something with some towing ability so I traded it for my PowerWagon.
Missed it though, so when my wife's GC 4XE wasn't panning out I pushed for another Wrangler...

She got to pick the color...

1976 CJ5, 258 6 cyl, 3 speed, soft top. It was my daily driver in Fairbanks for 2 years til I got a 1979 with a hard top. With an aux heater inside I could get the interior temp to 30 when outside temp was -40. I kept an ice scraper handy for the inside of the windshield. I was also 40 years younger than now!

1961 CJ5 with a flathead 4-cyl that was in rough shape. I bought it for $600 when I was 14 years old, in 1974. I spent two years restoring it, and by the time I was old enough to drive legally it was also ready to drive. I've owned a Jeep ever since.

2026 Willys 2.0T 2DR Hard Top in Mojito built for me!
Mine was a 1995 Sport with soft top that I bought used. Owning a Jeep had been my dream since watching the boys go around doorless in the 1970's.

It was white with a black top and I put on blue and white Hawaiian seat covers. I was young enough to be able to handle putting the top up and down myself, but I was never able to take the doors off, besides not having a place to store them.

Then I married my Air Force husband, and one day he came home and said a friend of his wanted to buy my Jeep. I asked, "Well, what am I supposed to do then?!" And his answer was, "Let's go to the dealer right now and buy you a new Jeep." And that was how I got the last 2006 Sport on the lot. Once again, not the color I wanted, but I knew it was my last chance to get a TJ.

Fast forward 18 years and I finally got a beautiful pink Jeep built just for me. Now I'm too old to switch out tops, so I got the SOT.
