What old transfer case fluid COLOR should be ?

Here is mine at 40K mile. The fresh one is in the tube way cleaner than old one. I’m not experienced and have no idea how old one should look. Any thoughts ?

Mine looked a little better than that when I did mine at 35000. You are helping your jeep for sure. Don't forget your axles.

Usually they tend to go darker or maybe it is just my black pan doing that.
From what I see in the picture, not a expert, look like you where having a little water in there.

I changed mine out recently. Went with the Royal purple Synchromax
